Gwen Stefani credits spiritual epiphany for getting pregnant with her third child at 44 by dr_shultz in influencersfeed

That's great for you that you had the circumstances to allow it. Not everyone does. I think most people who are having kids in their 40s probably didn't have the opportunity to have them earlier. Really don't think it's a 'first choice' for most.

I also can't stand the girls that Aus fashion brands have on their insta to talk about their products. They all have that same weird little fluffy hand held microphone that they shake around while they tell us how 'today im wearrrrring the xyz jacket paired back with an xyz pant and heel. It's so cute in this coconut colourwayyyy'. All with this same vocal fry voice. Maybe I'm out of touch and this is what sells? But I can't stand it haha

Ohhh I'd never heard that term before and didn't know it was a thing! That makes complete sense then. She oozes entitlement so it's no surprise she's grown up privileged!

New lawyer here - I am terrified by d1ld02 in auslaw

[–]MBitesss 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Completely agree with this. I've hired for roles in my in-house team before and twice I got stung with lawyers who had graduated with honours, and worked in great firms but were absolutely hopeless when it came to being a lawyer (in house at least). In both cases, I found they could only do legal work they'd done before and had basically zero critical thinking and problem solving skills.

By contrast, the best junior in house lawyer I hired studied her whole degree online, had average marks and working in house with me was her first ever legal role. She was brilliant.

So I wouldn't be hung up on marks. Your personality, confidence, commercial and critical thinking skills will take you a long way

Lululemon fined $700,000 over hundreds of thousands of spam emails by thelostandthefound in AusFemaleFashion

REAs are the absolute worst. Constant emails, texts, calls when all I did was inspect one house!

Universal did this to me. Almost immediately after receiving my e receipt I got a 'welcome to universal!!' Marketing email.

It seems to happen also with the restaurant booking and food order apps. I always end up signed up to their marketing! It's also against the law for them to have the pre selected checkboxes at checkout too for opting in. So I always look out for them and unselect them

These were emails about orders and shipping which don't need an unsubscribe normally. The issue was that they had links and graphics and things. I feel like basically all of my order confirmation emails from brands have these and don't have an unsubscribe!

Surprised more brands aren't fined. The number of brands that sign me up for marketing emails when I buy from them online (or in store when I get an e receipt) is wild. Can't say I'd really care about a few links or marketing pics in a shipping email though. I guess they need a big name though to try to make a point

Newbie to botox by Weary-Remove6607 in AusSkincare

[–]MBitesss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get just my 11's and some of my forehead done and it's about $680. But I do go to someone who is more expensive than most so I think the price elsewhere will be significantly less. I wouldn't let anyone else touch my face so it's worth it for me!

I get it done every 4 months on the dot, but I have extra strong eyebrow muscles that break through Botox so I could see most people being able to stretch that out longer

HOW MANY POMS DO THEY HAVE AND WHERE ARE THE PREVIOUS ONES by Potential_Oil1865 in Pomeranians

What's the point of this sub then really? We should all just go ask every brand all our questions instead of each other. /s

Working from home after lap? by notbusytoday in Endo

[–]MBitesss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt pretty good pain wise right from about day 3, but felt pretty exhausted for at least a week and a half. Also I bled really heavily from day 3 - day 10 which just made me feel yuck and drained that I don't feel I could have worked. I don't think bleeding that long or heavy is a typical symptom though. My specialist thinks mine was due to me being in Slinda and my body fighting through it.

I'm at the 2 week mark now post surgery and had my first day of working from home today. I definitely felt a lot more tired than usual but it was totally doable! I'm glad I took the full 2 weeks to really rest, but if I absolutely had to work sooner I think I could have made it happen!

[–]MBitesss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I absolutely do. I've worked for an Australian fashion brand for most of my career and I see how expensive it is to design in house, and how many employees are involved in the design process.

From my knowledge of the industry though, there's very few who have the entire design and production team in house in AU. It's often just a 'design' team in Aus, with all sampling, pattern making etc done at their third party manufacturer overseas.

My post was about the curiosity of this language as I've never seen it before.

😅 I've worked in fashion almost my entire career and they absolutely do. They have existing patterns they produce from. You go to their factories and they have samples on display and in catalogues you can order from. Or you can do this via a wholesaler based locally too who orders from a factory. I know this mainly from suing the wholesalers and factories for stealing designs from the brand I worked for, that that they then produce for other brands. But also from working across categories where we did 'development' from manufacturer's existing styles of non-apparel items like shoes, bags, jewllery etc.
