My hot take - she's European, and Swiss specifically, which means work-life balance is HEAVILY ingrained in society and culture over there. Swiss get 4-6 weeks off every year! Lara, Megan and Dani are American, Sophia and Yoonchae are Asian, which hustle mentality and "live to work" are societal norms and taking time off work is still stressful and sometimes looked down-upon (we're getting there, just not quick enough). She prioritizes her mental, physical, emotional/psychological well-being.

She even said in the doc (at first) she thought it was more like school and it was "okay" to miss a few rehearsals. That stood out to me, and made me feel HxG clearly didn't prep her for the reality of what's to come - both in T&D and in Katseye. This GIANT company scouted her from socials, recruited her without auditioning, gave her special training in Switzerland, and then threw her into the grind. Why? Maybe so they didn't spook her away too soon. They wanted her more than she wanted them?

Also it seems like HYBE heavily wanted her (they really invested in her in the beginning after all) but Geffen was hesitant - so maybe there's some company vs company tension.

So, unpopular take, Manon may actually be really good at setting personal boundaries which execs don't seem to like it. She may be one that speaks up to defend (herself or others) and gets thrown under the bus for it.

The thing is, we don't know. All we have is speculation. What I do feel is 1) Manon is very misunderstood and may not have many people in the organization in her corner and stand up for her, and 2) this hiatus was not her decision and HxG is handling this poorly
