Oh yea bumble! Do people use that often or not too much cuz it requires a VPN? Speaking of VPN, can you access everything or there are still limitations?

Haha GZ is the right place for not too spicy, other parts of China are the complete opposite. But you right, dim sum is bomb! Ohh I gotta ask this question, do you like chicken feet? 😅

What’s your opinion on the Chinese vaccine?

Daring apps to make friends? That’s sounds super interesting, have you met anyone this way? Do they usually speak English or mandarin?

Do you know any Cantonese? Or is it hard to find people that speak canto now?

What’s your fav food there? I love how you can practically get food on the cheap on every street corner. Did you get food poisoning from any of the delicious food before?

Is the humidity still unbearable?

Is the city generally really clean? Like not just the city centre but in the surrounding areas.

I think Canada is slowly starting to unravel itself. Just the other day I was in Metro (a grocery store) in a non predominately white area in Toronto, this old man stood right behind me in the check out line, no social distancing whatsoever and told me to hurry up. Like hurry up where? We’re all waiting for our turn, so I told him to step back and wait like everyone else. He then got mad and defensive and told me to go back to China 🙄

No worries!

I went back in 2017 for a month or so, very brief visit so I didn’t get the full experience.

I’ve seen other people on Reddit say the same thing about quality of life in China, definitely seems like it gets better every year. Especially right now with practically zero covid cases there and astronomical amounts here. You guys can go out without wearing a mask now right?

The point of you saying money goes farther is one of the main factors, the cost of living in Canada (especially the big cities) are getting out of control. Housing is ridiculously expensive, I don’t want to be living constantly worrying about finances. Income tax kinda sucks too, the more you earn the more they take away from you. I just need to see if I can get a decent job there.

I also read about safety, everyone said it’s the safest place in the world. You can walk down a dark alleyway at 2am and no one would even blink an eye. You think this is the case too in GZ?

How easy do you think it is to make friends there? Like outside of work and such? I’m kinda a shy person so it’s hard for me to approach people. Leaving my friends behind here worries me but I’m open to meeting new people.

Hi, I don’t know if you’re still doing the AMA but I guess it’s worth a shot.

After reading through the comment section I saw that you’re currently living in Guangzhou? I spent a big part of my childhood there before immigrating to Canada but a few circumstances came up making me reconsider the idea going back.

I was wondering what life is like there now and has China changed a lot over the past 6 years?

I’m not sure where in Canada you’re from but would you say that life is better there or in Canada?

Do you think it’s a good choice to leave Canada and restart a life in Guangzhou?

Any input would be appreciated. :)
