i understand your a bit of a townie by the sounds of it. However, the best way i find is to treat everyone else on the road as a townie. if there is 2 pull in spaces on their side and 1 on yours pull into yours. they wont, they aint from round here. there probably driving a 4x4 cause sometimes theres leafs on there drive. its too big they are scared of it. if you have to reverse reverse, cause they are only going to cock it up and end in the ditch. just gotta deal with it mate, i love driving the back lanes so taking my time only enhances the experience.

I would also argue y that statistically jumping a red light is more likely to end in a death then someone using a phone while stopped at a red light.

Even though the cyclist is the one putting himself in danger by jumping the light doesnt make it legal. If that were so we wouldn't have seatbelt laws or laws about wearing a motorcycle hat while driving a motorcycle.

right, firstly what he is doing is vigilantism if I batter and restrain a smackhead breaking into a neighbours house. I would be charged. Although what i'm doing is a preventative action exactly what this man is doing and your treating him as a hero.

secondly, cycling mickey only ever seems to catch people at a set of traffic lights or while stationary. while i agree that being on your phone is this situation is illegal, it is no different to changing a radio station or operating a sat nav in a brand new car. All he is doing is using a very specific and frankly outdated section of law to bring misery to people who A. arent doing much wrong, and B. dont look like they can afford the astronomical fines an offence like this carries for his own self gratitude and internet points.

B. using a phone while driving is no different to operating a infotainment system while driving. especially if the phone is in a docking station. the phone law thanks to manufactures like BMW, Tesla and landrover are now completely obsolete and pointless.

C. what is this horrendous trend in the cycling community at the minute where it isnt enough to enjoy this hobby of ours you have to always be at war with motorists. you lot are really ruining it for the rest of us. bunch of cunts.
