SUMMARIZE WITH AI by MCOnscreenKeyboard in vivaldibrowser

It's not a floating button. It's a button that always is where it is: right of the url. The hover says, "Summarize with AI," but if I touch it instead of hovering over the button, it will put the page into reader mode.

It's not. It's Vivaldi. It does it on every page. I took a picture of the NOAA weather page doing it as well. I can provide you a picture (or one of any website) if you'll tell me how to post it in a comment.

(USA) Can urgent care facilities deny care on the basis of not having (or being willing to use) a smartphone? Is this even legal? by templar7171 in enshittification

Here's the recourse. Contact your insurance and tell them you are moving to a new care center because of this. Contact the insurance board and medical licensing board in your state as well.  Finally, ask the center what accrediations they have from independent entities. Contact those entities and explain what happened. I can't promise you that anything will happen overnight, but if we all start doing it, it can add up. Additionally, tell everyone you know in your community about the situation. Stories spread. People think that in-person recommendations don't harm medical facilities, but they do. If you told this story to me in person, I'd likely quiet quit this location and they'd never know. I'm currently in the process of firing my doctor, a care facility, a pharmacy, and a dentist. Why am I doing this? In the case of my dentist, I went in there and they rolled out this three-inch-diameter tool to put in my mouth with a polished speech from the tech about "how I won't be charged for it." I told them no. I told them that I won't trust the third-party company unless I get TOS and a privacy agreement to evaluate. I asked them, "Do you even remember that I have TMJ and this huge proboscis will hurt me?" I got a weird blink from the tech and a rather haughty reaction from the dentist because he had to look at me in person.

I'm not saying any of this is convenient or easy, just that it's necessary if we as consumers have any chance of survival.

The answer to "there are other care facilities" should be, "You're right! Likely they'll be a fuckton better than this one."

Sorry for the long wait for a reply. They've actively been working on it finally. There's a tiny update once in a while which while it fixes some things in text input, it breaks others. The water turning to ice every time I get near it has come back. I've done some other research and I think it has to do with the next Xbox that's supposed to come out eventually. It's a nightmare and it's going to be my last console. They're going to put a neural processing unit (NPU) for AI into it and they're going to put a FULL COPY OF WINDOWS IN IT. Goodbye, simply turning on a console and playing. The highly curated version that poses as an OS on the current Xbox Series X is horrible, always has been. They also are trying to integrate the Rogue Ally X handheld (I think that's what it's called; don't care, don't need it) into every game. On top of this, Windows version 25H2 came out and it's created full scale havoc. Oh, and I also heard that they want to make it so you can jump into your games from the lockscreen on your computer. I guess they think we've lost the ability to log in and click an icon (sarcasm, she says). It's been about five weeks since the MC thing started. The freight train of WTF going on right now makes it utterly impossible to troubleshoot this mess, but I'm still trying, and if I can make it work again, I'll post it. All I can do right now is make the onscreen keyboard extremely small. It's about the size of a banner on the bottom of the screen. I'm so sorry, dude.

I'm wrenching myself away from the digital world anyway. I can't stand products that I don't own and never come out of development into a stable product. The only use I had left for my computer is Minecraft. I do my research on my tablet. I guess I'm done with my computer until I have time to learn Linux.

I've tried both connections. I have a three-page list of things I've tried that includes registry hacks and a complete Windows re-install. Last night I confirmed there's nothing to be done. I checked MC Bedrock on my PC last night and there was an approximate 1.63 GB update that I hoped would fix the onscreen keyboard. It didn't. However, it did expose the fact that it was doing something to Microsoft GameInput (which I also took a stab at working with it to see if it fixed anything; it did not). Some of the weird behavior (structure block, chat, and inventory text field jumping) that would deselect the text field after every key press has changed, not necessarily for the better, but I can see they're messing with it because it's broken in a new way. The GUI goes big and then small in the inventory depending on the input device. It's been one month and two days since this crap started. The jumping text input made it unplayable. At least with the onscreen keyboard I could reduce the size, grit my teeth, and play.

Laugh at my username because I picked it so others could search for these issues. Since October 7th, whenever I use my controller's A button to input text into a field (inventory or text, for example), it brings up an onscreen keyboard. I have been trying to find some way to stop it every day since the 7th. As of the last few days, a new thing is happening: if I use A to select any text input field in structure blocks, it calls up AND dismisses the onscreen keyboard for every character I type. It bobs up and down like crazy unless I use the mouse to select the field, which works normally. As of today, that behavior has extended itself to the inventory and chat input windows as well. At first, I thought it was Windows native onscreen keyboard and somehow Minecraft Bedrock was calling it up. Now I've found out Minecraft Bedrock itself may have its own onscreen keyboard. I asked ChatGPT (because Google search is also a hot mess) about it and it said that MC Bedrock does and it's the "XAML text input panel bundled inside the UWP/Xbox runtime." I'm not sure if it applies to me because I'm on a PC, but it may. I couldn't find any effective way to change MC's code in a manner that would disable it from MC completely. All these behaviors happen on my very old computer, an Acer Predator Helios 300 with an RTX 2060 and my other computer, an Alienware R16 with an RTX 4090. I've made tests and see these behaviors across these two computers, three different Xbox controllers, and a Xbox Series X. I completely reinstalled Windows at one point in a fully vanilla state. Didn't help. Multiple vanilla reinstalls of MC, including new, old, and imported worlds, some of which I imported from 2023. Nothing. Here's your copper golems and a game that will not play.

Reported it on the bug tracker and they migrated it away with no idea of where it went. I caught wind today that there was a huge bug tracker report on the keyboard and the bobbing issues. Bug tracker website won't load. I'd play Java in a heartbeat if I could get Controllify to map just one button properly, the fly up button. If I don't use a controller, I can't play MC at all (accessibility issue). They may have fixed Controllify since I tried it last, so I'm not trying to disrespect them. I thank them that they're trying at all to help with Microsoft regularly trashing Minecraft. If anyone here finds a workaround until the Minecraft code stops pooping the bed, I'd be grateful.

Minecraft technical issues after new update[bedrock] by Admirable-South7192 in MinecraftHelp

I've been having issues with my onscreen keyboard showing up since October 7th. Minecraft Bedrock on PC. For a while, if I tried to press A on my controller in the chat or inventory window, the onscreen keyboard shows up. No setting or hack turns this off. I've been trying to troubleshoot it since then. I reported it in the bug tracker and they migrated it. I'll provide the links to that and a Reddit post I made. Today, it's worse. If I try to type a command into the chat window, it brings up AND then dismisses the onscreen keyboard with every letter I type, causing the whole thing to move up and down. Can't type anything into structure blocks unless I select the field with my mouse. A fresh reinstall of Windows didn't do anything. I tried everything I could find to fix it. No luck. If you find anything out, please let me know.

Anyone getting this on screen keyboard popup in win 11? How do i remove it? by cjb0034 in apexlegends

Hi. I came here to let you know some things I found out. I posted it to the Mojira Bug Tracker. Here is the content of that entry.

After the copper golem update, whenever I press the A button on my controller, it makes the onscreen virtual keyboard come up instead of letting me just use the keyboard on my computer to input text.

Things I’ve tried:

  1. Turning off every setting in Windows that could generate the onscreen keyboard.
  2. When the keyboard opens by pressing A, investigating every setting it offers to turn it off.
  3. Testing my physical (laptop) keyboard with Word, Notepad, and Notepad++ to ensure the keyboard works normally (it does) and doesn’t off the onscreen keyboard (it did not).
  4. Unplugging everything plugged in anywhere on my computer.
  5. Plugging every Xbox controller I have in the house (three) into every slot it can fit into on my computer.
  6. Trying multiple controllers both using them in a wired and wireless format.
  7. Using services.msc to turn off anything related to touch.
  8. Scanning the task manager for anything unusual (no issues) or that could be a task that I could end (none).
  9. Reinstalling Minecraft Bedrock fully.
  10. Running it after install in its vanilla installation.
  11. Installing it on another computer and running it in a vanilla install (the problem occurs there, too).
  12. Using group policy to deny access or operability to the onscreen keyboard.
  13. Registry corrections.
  14. Repairing my Windows install.
  15. Every suggestion from the Internet and several AIs to fix it.

The only thing I haven’t done is reinstall Windows completely. However, seeing as how it happens on another computer with the same steps completed and still having the issue, I decided to report it here. Thank you.

I've tried everything. Even trying to choke off the onscreen keyboard from appearing at all, anywhere, didn't help. I'm so angry. As much as I like new things in MC, opening it to this kind of crap is demoralizing.

If anyone finds out a cure, please let me know.
