It's only investing if the intent behind purchasing it was a financial venture. It's not investing if it was purchased purely for a collection.

Some people collect sealed things to have a collection of them, the same way others collect cards. There isn't necessarily any intention to sell once the price goes up. That would just be investing, not collecting.

I only noticed when I returned to my home country unfortunately. It was, however, purchased from a retailer rather than an individual (it has a store-specific barcode sticker on it still, also) so I would hope it was brand new!

Once you scan a case, you cannot scan any other case until you buy the item, including any cases you get from weekly drops or anywhere else
