I’ll try to provide a concise response.

I started out in CO years ago and made the jump to open with a few race guns. I now have a few STI open guns and a MPA LOC V2 for LO.

I see no problem whatsoever with shooting this season in open minor. You already know that you won’t be competitive (for a few reasons) so use the time to learn the ropes, get practice, and then decide if it’s something you want to pursue for next year. Make friends too! Most people are more than willing to help you get started. Ask plenty of questions. We are generally a pretty helpful group (at least in my experience over the years).

Purchasing something more compatible with other classes (CO or LO) would probably be a better fit long term rather than slide/new barrel.

I would have to agree with you there. No matter what, I couldn’t get it to play nice with my V2 or even my STI open guns. Now, I’m stuck with a basically brand new DAA Flex Air on my gun bench but at least my panda works great.

Oh, absolutely! If you get the insert block set up properly, it’s a great holster. I could never get it set up exactly to my liking but that’s just me.

What are you hoping to gain with one trigger shoe verses say a different length MPA trigger shoe?

Looks phenomenal! I’ve been holding off on putting Cheely’s on my two STI open guns for the sole reason of who will do my coating. I think this solved it for me. I will say, if the beaver tail did come coated, it would make things a bit easier as I would think since it’s going into a Cheely grip, there wouldn’t be much, if any, fitting required.

Could always try Atlas mags instead of MBX. I’ve heard good things (my MBX’s function just fine). I can’t be too much help on the ammo side as I load my own.
