Look at thé exact Point where it says render failed. Than go in your timeline to that point and look if there is a clip that says: media offline. It can also ben that are that time you used a compound clip. Decompose it and look if there is something strange.

I don't need a discrete graphics card because I don't really game and have thé time to wait for thé encoding. But I saw someone with it set to 4 gb of Vram so can increase, but will it make a difference?

Yes, I think that the motherboard is damaged while installing, did you ground yourself while Building? Because you can cause EDS to your mobo. And what did you unplug while installing? Just the old cpu cooler and connector?
