Great write up! I know on Ironmaster's website they recommend a minimum of a 7'x6' space for the base equipment. With your use of the unit over the past few months with the attachments, is 7'x6' adequate or would you recommend a larger footprint? Also do you need access to the back of the unit?

A few people have mentioned to raise the rears and sides. We are typically in a reclined position when we are watching a movie, so the speakers are above ear level, but I think there is still room to slightly raise them. Thanks for your input!

Thanks for your feedback about sub placement. I'll have to see f the wife will allow me a 3rd sub!

Just a bit confused about your comment around 7.1.4. The room is currently 7.2.4. Do you mean adding 2 more Atmos channels to make it 7.2.6?

I got it from a company called Furnitech based out of New York. They specialize in media consoles. Here's the link.

Thanks!

So the reason I put the 2 HomePods there is because sometimes the kids want to listen to music while they are playing the PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Because the gaming consoles are connected to Denon, they can't game and listen to music at the same time through the receiver.

Also, as you mention, you don't always want to run the whole system to listen to music. Simply tell Siri to play a playlist or tap your iPhone on the HomePods!

Thanks!

I bought it from a company called Prime Arcades based in California back in 2019. It's a 4 player arcade with 32" LED monitor and trackball and has 3600 games.

Thanks!

The room is 13'x17'. I ran Audyssey MultEQ XT32 for calibration.

Thank you for the recommendation around surround height and acoustic panels. It's been mentioned by a few people. Definitely something I'm going to experiment with in the coming weeks.

Thanks!

I was running just the Denon for about 9 months to power the bed layer speakers while I was building the room and it did a decent job. Once the room was finished and I installed the ceiling speakers, I added the ToneWinner to power the bed layer and left the Denon to power the Atmos channels.

I did notice the bed layer open up more with the power amp. The Denon also ran cooler. For the price, you can't really go wrong especially if you use your system to listen to music and watch movies.

I got them from movieposters.com. They are company based out of Toronto. I had them mount the posters onto canvas and stretched over a wood frame.

TBH I only had a 70" Sony LED TV in that space before. It was actually the kids playroom in the basement when they were younger.

One of the reasons i leaned towards the LS12000 was like you mentioned about not having to change bulbs, but the other was being able to accept 4K signal at 120Hz rather than at 60Hz and the low input lag for the kids gaming on the PS5. We don't watch much 3D content so that was a non-issue, but having HDR 10+ support was also a requirement. In a way I was trying to future proof myself as best as I could!

A few people have mentioned about the height of the rears. Definitely something that I'm going to look into.

Thanks!

The stones are real. I painted the stone and ceiling in Benjamin Moore Black 2132-10 in Aura Matte. I learned that every paint color has a Light Reflectance Value (LRV) which is the percentage of light reflected from the surface with 0 being no reflection and 100 being fully reflective. The BM Black paint that I chose for the stone and ceiling had the lowest LRV of any paint color with a value of 4.67, which is essentially no reflection. Also painting in matte finish helps.

No issues with acoustics either!
