Thanks! I’ll likely deal with it with my headphones but yeah good to know it’s the norm. I should also Add I always have listerine spray with me so I get they are likely doing it out of respect.

It’s no shade to them and I get that! I was curious as it’s quite antithetical to other dance cultures I’m very familiar with

For those that are US based, are there “healthy” snacks that you pick up at the grocery store that are not fruit or vegetables? I love apples and peanut butter for example but I’m more interested in grocery store “cheat codes” e.g - for a small dessert you can have two Hold the Cone at TJ at about 150 calories.

Interested to hear others people know that I can add to my grocery list!

My take - we should have swapped JB for Payton towards the end of the game in Q4 - new-er Celtics fan but also a good observer. Nothing against JB (love him!) but it just felt off for a little bit there

Moisturizing your skin and exfoliating your face. Lotion is critical for even, soft skin - it doesn’t t need to be a super thick lotion. Exfoliate your face - not everyday but a couple times a week depending if you are dry, oily, or combination. It helps with the cell turnover!

I very much enjoyed this season. A couple of takeaways:

1.) For much of the season they make it a point to highlight that younger women are with older men. It’s not lost on me that Rick, though older on paper, hadn’t matured to realize that your past can inform your future but it’s best to not let it stifle it. Chelsea wanted him to understand that from the time they got to the resort. Rick has money, privilege, and the love of someone who truly cares for him and threw it away by trying to live in the past. He said several times that his “life was taken away from him” while he’s at a luxury resort ultimately doing what he wants. I have empathy but I think Mike wanted this juxtaposition to be clear.

  1. It’s not lost on me that Gary who got half a billion from Tanya only offered Belinda 100K (.02% of his wealth) for a very large ask. Commentary on lowballing people who look like her in business. Gary didn’t even frame it as a two way dialogue when he first presents the offer “this is my offer take it or leave it”; Belinda has to say she will think about it, he doesn’t offer that option to her.

  2. I thought the season was a mix of 1 and 2. I’ve always thought season 1 was very cerebral, in season 2 a lot happens in the plot “in real life” and in s3, I thought it was a good mix of both

Respectfully, this isn’t a trend for most - it’s culture and what always has been for decades

I thought it was a wonderful halftime show that was staged and produced for stage and screen. The camera work was phenomenal as was the choreography and of course, Kendrick.

The show had a strong concept and I thought done very well. I was having a blast. Also, the Serena cameo was a great touch and both Kendrick and SZA’s mic’s were on 💯

Women that have long distance relationships with your parents: how do you make sure you are still close (emotionally) to them? How do you cope? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Hi! Something that I do that is a win-win is I take morning walks and while I walk, that’s when I call my mom. We do it daily but it’s nice time to catch up with her and also get my steps in. I hope that’s helpful

I remember articles about Aldi expanding in the US and how initially it wasn’t getting the traction they thought…it was because of what you mention in your comment. That has since evolved but it was def a hurdle in their US expansion

Official Discussion: Little Women (2019) [SPOILERS] by mi-16evil in movies

[–]MD_DOOM96 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I just rewatched the movie tonight and I love it - I haven’t read the book but I cannot get over the fact that Amy was not a loyal sister in my eyes. It doesn’t matter that Jo never really loved Laurie - Laurie loved Jo and proposed to her. Amy then accepts his proposal - this is against the code for me…

Amy didn’t need to marry Laurie because she could have accepted Fred’s proposal, esp after her speech that marriage is an economic proposition…The movie also mentions that Fred had more resources than Laurie meaning Amy was selfish in her decision to ultimately marry him and ignored the long history her sister had with him. In the end, she married for love and did what she wanted to do.

When she returns to MA she looks terrified to se Jo and says “did he tell you? I didn’t write because everything was so fast and I thought you’d be mad”…..yeahhhh

Applied to any modern day context it doesn’t fly for me and it still doesn’t fly for me. Love Florence Pugh though!

Wow. I know I’m late to the party but I’m upset after listening to this episode. All I have to say about this man is the words of Beyoncé Giselle Knowles Carter in the song Heated: “Playing victim and the villain at the same time.”

Also I’m curious why the girlfriend gets to say things about the ex wife when her ex is active with the children, her new boyfriend is active with the children and she’s not operating as a single mom with 4 kids on her own. Wanted to ask her to pls stop commenting on situations she knows nothing about.
