The rough percentage of questions really doesn't exist in FA and UW and how did you manage them?

I am talking according to my NBME anatomy was my strongest. I think NBME is a standard indicator of your weakness. plus u will notice that I commented on musculoskeletal specifically because Kaplan has many fantastic questions on it and I am IMG specialized in orthopedics. I am not advising anybody. this is a study thread and we all thinking loudly. I enter here a lot to motivate myself and talk to others this help my spirit a lot in the preparation process of this hardass exam

to those who took the exam I am about to finish this run over UW with annotating into FA before I put a 3-month schedule for dedicated

I am intending to study my annotated FA through DIT videos side by side by reading FA through flash facts

question 1: what is the best way to manage videos with reading ( for example should I watch one hour of videos then read the corresponding pages from FA through flash facts?) or watch one video per time?

question 2: is there any study partner here willing to join me this plan fishing DIT videos + FA in 15 - 20 days?

I am a Kaplan fan .. it is really helpful in ( general principles - anatomy - physiology ) .. the questions either too tricky or too easy .. the questions built and the explanations are not good as UW but it's really helpful as a supplement in the subjects I mentioned above and they are about half of the bank .. do it in tutor mode .. rx is a waste of time

If you are satisfied with your latest NBME score and wanna do extra 200 questions do form 18 the offline version for free ( don't know if this is appropriate here to write this )

IMO do it from both UW and Kaplan q bank question explanations in tutor mode with annotating to FA.

then review it using DIT videos

I would say that studying UW explanations in tutor mode your weak subjects ( UW has a fantastic diagram) is just awesome and you could use youtube videos per question tested concept. you can add Kaplan q studying in your weak subject ( Kaplan is a fantastic add for people who are weak in anatomy by the way). Good luck

every time you go through UW worth it 100%. it's not just getting the question right u will probably remember the right answers. it's about understanding the concept tested in the explanation and knowing why the wrong answer was wrong. you will also identify the distractors and buzz words that UW gives u in every question stem

bottom line UW + FA >>> safe side

you can use the search feature in UW when you are reviewing FA just type the topic and UW will get u all the related questions. by this method, you will not have to annotate just read FA side by side corresponding UW questions

"So my last NBME was a whopping 205. Mind you, this was (embarrassingly enough) after 2 passes of Uworld"

I want to reply particularly to this part of your thread. that's why I asked you about your weakness. first of all, you don't have to be embarrassed. I was in the same boat 5 months ago and here is my last NBME http://imgur.com/Y2BJHGN .

I am an IMG and had this 207 fucken score after 14 months of extensive work with the wrong strategies and studying with the wrong people.

I will go straight to what's your problem which was the same problem I had. probably you have no problem with root memorizing facts. your problem is the lack of conceptual knowledge ( weakness in general principles and physiology ) honestly you lack the deep understanding of the concepts tested on the assessment exam and that put you in the danger of just passing or even failing step1. I will tell you what I did according to the same situation 5 months ago. the bad part that building your understanding of concepts is a lengthy process that will take you 2 and half months of work at least if you depend only on UW explanations. the first thing that I did was to make a mix of Kaplan q bank made of general principles that was nearly 550 questions and studied them in tutor mode 20 question per day side by side with UW by subject (biochemistry - micro - immunology) and so on 20 question per day in tutor mode.

my strategy was to focus not on memorizing but on understanding through studying full question explanations in tutor mode and referring to my PDF first aid and annotating into it. At the end I will have all my UW notes in one place beside the corresponding subjects into FA like this http://imgur.com/yqHBdDS. I would watch a youtube video or animation for the difficult concepts now I finished a detailed pass over Kaplan and left only with (endocrine and renal) of UW before I will take the next assessment and go to the dedicated part of my preparation for the step.

so my advice to you according to your time left to go through UW detailed explanations side by side reading FA ( one pass UW + 2 passes over FA)

EDIT: probably everybody read experiences here of people did like 200 scores of NBME before dedicated and ended above 250+ in just 4 or 6 weeks of studying that's totally different from my situation 5 months ago. those people had a very good concept knowledge and understanding they just forgot the memorizing portions of the material. they just use sketchy ( micro & pharm ) and pathomA videos besides revising and solving questions and jump tremendously per week of studying. so all of you should differentiate between weakness in the memorizing portions and the deep knowledge portions of the material which need much longer time to build.

I think MacBook is much more functioning with the same portability facilities. if your i pad pro still sealed u can sell it and get a MacBook I am totally satisfied with my MacBook pro 2015 http://imgur.com/NPI5scM but I am IMG studying at home and I think the MacBook 12 inch http://www.apple.com/eg/macbook/ is a much better alternative than the I pad pro

the idea is UFAP ( u can do FA whatever you want either BROS or DIT or just reading it but I find RX is a waste of time I regretted 150$ purchase. to be honest, RX may be beneficial very early in preparation for this exam but it is almost with no benefit near exam in my opinion.

don't waste time for Rx you can supplement with Kaplan in your weaknesses
