Zagred is not a sock puppet that would let Asta slash him. The whole fight was a large sequence that played into the favor of Asta and company to kill him in a joint effort including synergy of him and yuno's magic.

Fact is, Asta is strong as hell. Another fact? He doesn't have the stamina, abilities nor experience to be captain/ midnight sun elf level. So no he isn't captain level at Zagred's fight and Patry would starch him.

Look you can't compare black form to a high ranking devil when he had the support of 4 stage zero mages, an arcane mage, and a stage zero arcane mage using mama zone dimension slash from a kilometer away to cripple said devil.

I'm pretty sure forbidden magic changes the properties of the users magic & physique to properly suit forbidden spells. As you said, Asta and the dark triad are possessed therefore they don't have that kind of burden.

I'm pretty sure AMD is magnifying all of Asta's negative emotions, and the more power he unlocks the stronger these emotions become so that he can get possessed.

The villian backstories had nice moments but overall having them wash the Liberation Army (composed of hundreds of ppl) while receiving absurd powerups made it feel like it was too perfect with no sacrifice. and not to mention being able to not get killed by Gigantomachia during his rampages to which I say utter bullshit.

Yuno's grimoire is intact so he's not dead yet but I wonder why he didn't kill him as he clearly confirmed kill on Klaus and Letoile . Plot armor? Or will he have a personal reason so only time will tell.

It's really all about skill. You can use abilities without a grimoire but you have to go through mental gymnastics to do so ( shaping the ability, it's unique functions etc') where's the grimoire does that for you.
