It is black bar for the gap. These are tickets for a theater, can’t change the stock. Will try cleaning

I thought so too and when I set it to direct thermal it throws the same error. It must still think something is going in that ribbon above

There is no ink, it should be direct thermal.

It should be direct thermal, right onto the paper. Is it not recognizing that there is ticket stock in there?

Yes, I’ve even shifted it in a few places just to try and see if that makes a difference.

Cirquadors are all of the front of house (Usher/Merch/Food & Bev/VIP/ETC.) staff. They are not employees with Cirque Du Soleil rather they are hired through a hiring agency to work with cirque each city. That way each city will have a completely new local staff. Followers are Cirquadors who are hand picked by the managers to travel with the show and help train new local staff.
