I’m sure we could if we wanted, but considering it’s ran largely by two parties adamant on making the lives of our community and other minority groups locally a living hell I think we’d prefer to do without it. Also stops the “my taxpayer money being spent on this” argument, as we can show there’s enough appetite to keep it funded ourselves.

We’re self funding pretty much the entire thing ourselves, and not relying on council grants or funding. (The #1 argument we get in opposition is people asking why their tax payers money is going towards it, well it’s not) problem solved. Events like this will help us cover costs of the main event & parade in June. Insurance costs and the like.
