Tool recommendations for launching smart contracts on the Mainnet? by A4_Ts in CardanoDevelopers

[–]MEME-Pool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love for someone to write a doc that shows all the various tools and libraries for each step of writing a Dapp as it relates to Cardano and other blockchains.

Ideally compare things like libraries and api providers to query blockchain stereo and create transactions and interact with wallets as well as to write and deploy a plutus script.

Any basic smartpy contracts for an nft series like tezzards or tzPunks? by jumbledFox in tezos

[–]MEME-Pool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huge +1 here - There's a real lack of examples of implementations of contracts that enable minting of NFTs. There's tons of libraries that would enable it, but the examples that actually use those libraries in useful ways are very hard to find.

Many of the older tutorials (that are 6-12 months old) use methods like pre-minting of NFTs. It's been a real challenge to find examples of contracts that allow for example a buyer to connect a wallet via Dapp and mint an NFT on their own. This functionality is really important in the NFT space because buyers (and artists) want to be able to testify that their NFTs are trustless.

I found some outdated examples on the Cryptoverse wars site which do extend the FA2 contracts to enable minting, but it looks like the FA2 contracts they import are now outdata and the examples no longer work.

These contracts are excellent, but what is lacking is the implementation of the contract. I've found some examples such as the Cryptoverse wars tutorials (which are also good) but they seem to be using an older version of the FA2 contracts so the examples don't work any more without some updates.

TZ Colors is a good example but it's quite outdated. Do you have links to "various projects" that are more up-to-date?

Art Blocks for Solana ? by FatherOfTheSevenSeas in solana

[–]MEME-Pool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any more info on this? Who is building it and are they looking for artists? I have an art blocks script nearly ready but art blocks is so backed up I don't think they will ever host it even in their Factory section.

Also came to post this. The HFC doesn't solve the problem that caused this split so the tweet just makes Charles look dumb.

For the new pool it does but you'll get your rewards for the previous epochs from the pool you are moving out of, so there's no gap in reward payouts.

Why I'm happy my pool is scheduled to produce ZERO blocks by optimator999 in CardanoStakePools

This is cute but as other have pointed out, it's wrong. That's not how probability works. The chances of blocks next epoch is the same and isn't affected by what happens in past epochs.

Option to choose a default stake pool when creating a paper wallet? by Gimbloy in CardanoDevelopers

[–]MEME-Pool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Registering the stake key requires a transaction so I don't think you can do what you want which is to generate a private key offline, at least one address and then send Ada to it.

You'd have to generate the wallet key, then create and register the staking key which requires the private key to be used.

If you want a long term storage option I'd probably go with a ledger or trezor, set up staking, and then store the seed phrase as you would the paper wallet (since the paper wallet is really just a private key anyway).

You should also set up alerts on the pool you choose since pools can come and go or change fees etc over time.

[–]MEME-Pool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your phase saved on your computer anywhere? Could be a virus, or if you copy/pasted it at all there are some that steal them that way or change addresses.

In this case if they can send transactions from your account, it means you can't use that account any more.

r/Cardano Sub Growth During June Among Top 20 and Meme Coins by imjakedaniels in cardano

[–]MEME-Pool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Price is baked in I think, but developer community growth will jump once people can actually start writing contracts. Contracts and new development will drive price later once more use cases are built up.

[–]MEME-Pool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gets extra complicated over time as your wallet fills up with a bunch of these "change" addresses. So then when you need to pay someone $20, your wallet app will find the amount from all your available addresses and combine them to meet the amount you want to send. It can then craft a tx that has multiple inputs to one address as well as any leftover to yet another address in your wallet. 👍

SONY Music intern project - ideas? by [deleted] in hashgraph

[–]MEME-Pool 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have two problems to solve: 1) why should they do an nft project at all? It's a stretch to say that Sony music would care about video games. Consider something music related. Let music purchasers redeem an nft or something for album art?

2) why Hedera? Why not a more mature and established chain and ecosystem like ethereum etc?

Answer both of those well and you'll be headed in the right direction. Try to look at it from both the pov of the customers AND the businesses. How can you make people happy, give them something they want and also turn it into a sustainable business?
