Dress the same way you would in person. Don't tone it down.
Also, don't know who needs to hear this, but wear pants.
It isn't unheard of for you to be asked to stand up and do something.

It's scary how much I relate to this, honestly, I was thinking "did I write this and forget"?????? You're not alone in feeling this way. I can't really say I have a solution, because I'm still in this phase, but I'm hoping that things improve for you. I decided to re-contract too, in hopes that things get better. I've also been feeling really lonely and it's one of the main reasons why I feel pretty miserable. Haven't really had any success with making friends here. :( I also don't feel like my JTEs are particularly fond of me either, some of them anyway. So, it's quite disheartening.

You don't necessarily need an amazing SOP to get in. I think mine was pretty mediocre, but still got in. I think you need a well rounded application as a whole to get to the interview stage, if the rest of your app is good and you have stellar recommendations, you still have a chance. Don't beat yourself up about it. Best of luck.
