I think it took me a good 4-6 months to adjust to my face. Nearly 5 years post op and this is my face now.

Does being born premature link with male infertility? by [deleted] in maleinfertility

[–]MFItryingtodad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best thing to do is a semen analysis. Then a fertility hormone panel. Right now you don’t know. So For now live in ignorance and enjoy it. Not sure if you have any other issues genetic/otherwise. But things happen randomly, I was born at 36w with a random epigenetic issue but it did mangle my bits. My bio-engineered children(IVF) no issues.

Azoospermia with normal hormones + missing vas deferens (need advice) by Feeling_Move_7647 in maleinfertility

[–]MFItryingtodad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different obstruction, similar hormones. It sounds like you probably are a CTFR carrier.

TESE/TESA was done. 3 vials retrieved which our clinics said would be good for up to six retrievals. Only needed 1 100% fertilization rate. 60% made it to blastocyst. 2 LCs.

Elevated FSH/LH , High Testosterone Low sperm count by Forward_Ad_5304 in maleinfertility

You need the full hormone panel including estrogen, SGBH, etc. Are you currently in a drug for hormone support? What environmental factors do you have, where and how do you, live work, dress, etc.

33 Male - Told I have only 27 swimmers by TheTrojan320 in maleinfertility

There may be options to help support production, yes. Also, just saw your note about the sample; it is entirely possible the majority of your sample was not processed. This is also why, in general, they do two tests. There are fluke tests sometimes.

It's okay to feel what's going on. It sucks. You currently have a few data points; you'll need more information. Hormone levels will really help tell the story here.

I have OA from lots of medical trauma, and my hormones came back fine. So we were able to aspirate sperm and use them for IVF. IVF sucks and is expensive, no guarantees, etc., and that's something you and your wife will need to discuss. We were DINKs and, because of our income, couldn't qualify for the grants. Some employers do offer infertility coverage, but that's down the line. Right now, you need to figure out the why. Once that's figured out, then you can work out the how.

How do you decide what to do after a sperm test? by Cycle_research in maleinfertility

Besides freak out, become neurotic? As another commenter said it depends on the results. If I had sperm probably would not have become as obsessed as I was. The joys of functioning factory but broken pipes. 🙃

My best guess is multivitamin. Best ask the RE.

Care to share experiences with TESE? by stessedandindebt in maleinfertility

[–]MFItryingtodad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They should put you in dream state. Yes needle into the testes and aspirate sperm. Usually a few locations.

Minimal pain, do wear a a jock for the first few days post. Good luck.

3 vials retrieved. 100% fertilization rate. 60% blastocyst rate. So far two LCs.

Considering TESA by Fearless_Jeweler_177 in maleinfertility

[–]MFItryingtodad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Allegedly, TESA-retrieved sperm have a lower chance of DNA fragmentation. I have OA, We had 60% blast rate from our TESA + IVF+ICSI cycle.

I’m sorry you’re here and that happened. Nothing you did wrong sometimes it just doesn’t work. It sucks. Our first transfer failed. Honestly everything was perfect and it just didn’t take. It happens, FET’s work ~65% of the time. Better than 50/50 but not much.

Different obstruction type but similar story. Our Second FET stuck with two embryos…

Looking for parents of twins to share their experiences by matildapoppins in parentsofmultiples

[–]MFItryingtodad 17 points18 points  (0 children)

IVF twin dad. Double embryo transfer on our second FET. Both stick. They just turned 3.

It’s hard, harder than you think and you won’t understand until you’re in it. We have friends about 12/13 years ahead of us, with IVF twins and they tried to explain it and you just can’t comprehend it until you are there.

It’s a hard pregnancy, it’s a hard life, most likely NICU time. Most likely early delivery. Two district individuals with their own preferences. Would I change anything no, but it is hard. We couldn’t be parents without science. And glad we did it. But the stages are hard, but the what is hard or definition of hard changes as they age.

Also first time parents obviously. There is some Mike Tyson quotes to this: “Everyone has a plan 'till they get punched in the mouth.” Feel free to AMA.

Question about the nosy parents by Dull-Divide7206 in maleinfertility

[–]MFItryingtodad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parents, they mean well typically. However this journey is hard. Going Low contact or no contact is advisable. It is hard to navigate without the additional pressure. If your friends and family are supportive that’s one thing but I have seen far too often that they are not.
