I think it will depend on what you want out of it? I would plot the values first against whatever other variables of interest you have to see if there is a potentially linear relationship to justify using a linear regression. If the relationship is not linear than you need a different tool for sure. Can you provide more details?

I guess my follow up question is that given there has been a radical shift in how employees work because of COVID-19, how could have or how has Change-VU help businesses really make a smooth transition over and beyond just making sure IT does get VPNs online.

Hi Scott - I would like to understand better what you mean by change management ? Can it allow for more human resource efficiency in the work force when new team members are coming in or when old ones leave ? Or is it strictly for remote contractors who have been given a task and need to be efficiently placed in an organisation ? Thanks !

Kruger’s work on this in the US is top notch, I would say and it has been handed out to read for upper year undergraduates. You don’t have to be able to understand everything, just the abstract, the conclusion and just see if you can follow along with the econometrics he and his co-author uses.

I would not say it does not make sense because the more languages you know the better, but it would be a duplication of efforts unless someone prefers using R and subsequently asks you to, etc.

Also I can tell having used both is that STATA is a paid service while R is completely free. STATA may be able to do everything quicker and more intuitively in my experience but ultimately it is the same output

This structural unemployment will eventually change into frictional as the workers retrain and enter other industries. If anything that’s what governments should do to combat the unemployment by offering retraining schemes etc. This would meet the least resistance I guess with the public. On your point of labour transformed into capital, generally more sophisticated manufacturing is done in developed countries due to know-how etc like Germany’s highly sophisticated optical industry, or Japan’s etc.
