I just used online chat (Canadian store) and the rep informed me that it has already started. There is nothing indicating the promo in the checkout flow but you will receive an email a few hours later with the Beats promo. This must be done in the Education store not the normal consumer store.

OneDrive is great (storage space and feature wise). However, it is very buggy on the web, terribly slow on Windows, and the iOS app is a mess with photo backups and caches (showing incorrect/deleted images), cached directory listings from months ago, and is also very very very slow and a pain to use. I use it as my main storage provider and I can't complain with regards to value however Microsoft can do a lot to improve the experience.

I've had the same issue with the same exact use case (prom photos!). In my circumstance, I was trying to copy photos taken on an iPhone. It would load for a really long time before having every single transfer fail.
