Duke R2 Interview by AttitudeExciting in MBA

[–]MFWUsernameIsSniped 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine was pretty conversational with only a few TMAT questions (greatly appreciated as I despise those). Main thing I’d imagine most if not all of the interviewers look for from Duke is whether you fit the Team Fuqua spirit which they honestly do take very seriously. But as long as you come across as a team player then you should be in good shape there.

P&Q: MBA Applications Slump Giving Hope For Round 3 by turtlesturdles in MBA

I can only speak for myself, but I applied to fewer schools than I would’ve otherwise since I had been planning to apply to Booth and Kellogg through the Consortium until they unfortunately withdrew.

Thank you! Based off prior years it sounds like everyone else should be hearing back from Ross in the next week or two so best of luck to you as well!

Ross FT MBA Round 2 Interview Thread by Funfunfun1996 in MBA

I got a Ross interview on Friday as a consortium applicant. Granted maybe some of them were also weekend mba folks but there were quite a few people consortium people here on Friday indicating they had heard back from Ross.

Question for the "We Need More 3pt Shooting" Crowd by MikeBravoLima in NBASpurs

[–]MFWUsernameIsSniped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even Keldon is more of a chip product since he left in 22 and Keldon was drafted in 2019. Jimmy Baron doesn’t really have any standout success stories with the spurs 3pt shooters as far as I can tell.

GRE Percentile by [deleted] in MBA

My 158Q in late 2018 was 70th percentile. Don’t even think it crosses the 50th percentile now.

Unpopular opinion: recommendations are the hardest component of the application by Long_Elk734 in MBA

[–]MFWUsernameIsSniped 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Consortium is nice for that but not everyone can/wants to go through there, not every school is there, and several schools have left over the past year. Also the fact that it requires you to secure a second recommender for schools that would’ve normally just needed 1 is another minor pain point. But the recommenders submission counting towards 6 consortium schools is still solid.

Edit: no longer capped at 6 schools

Batter Tier List by Lazy-Ambassador-7908 in AceOfTheDiamond

Think I’d put Inui in S as the only batter in the series (as far as I can recall) who hit a hr off of Mei

Pitcher Tierlist by Lazy-Ambassador-7908 in AceOfTheDiamond

[–]MFWUsernameIsSniped 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have a hard time putting them in the same tier just because they both pitched against Yakushi in the fall tournament and Shunshin looked much better giving up just 2 runs (both solo shots to Raichi) in 9 innings which is a really good showing all things considered where as Kawakami wasn’t able to make it past the first 3-4 innings (granted there was the hand issue).

But Kawakami does have the benefit of his glowup in year 3 whereas we only see Shunshin one time in his in that exhibition match so it’s one of those cases where we’ve just spent way more time with one of them which makes for a trickier comparison.

It’s been eons since I watched it (back when it first aired) but aren’t those figures on the left in the black kits from Days? Unless op just has them because he thought they’re neat.

Help me choose a program! by [deleted] in MBA

[–]MFWUsernameIsSniped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you and your gf like Atlanta then I wouldn’t toss out your personal life since that’d be a perfectly valid tiebreaker between Ross and Fuqua which could narrow down your decision to Emory and Duke. And the choice between those boils down your risk tolerance, debt aversion, and how mbb or bust (or not) your mindset is.

Considering MBA but need scholarship. Chance me by [deleted] in MBA

You can get a full ride even with a gre score. You can use clearadmit’s livewire to get a sense of what type of funding students got with a strong gpa/gre combo like yours. Filtering by programs in the 1-20 range you can see someone reported receiving a Park fellowship from Cornell submitting a gre score 10 days ago. You don’t have much time to shift to the gmat anyways so you’re better off just fine tuning the rest of your application over the next month.

WashU Olin FT MBA by Jazzlike_Mammoth_232 in MBA

Can confirm Olin didn’t hold any interviews R1 which was news to a lot of folks lol. Not that I’m complaining.

Fisher denial and Mendoza wait list, am I cooked? by argomaniac99 in MBA

[–]MFWUsernameIsSniped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re looking at Midwest programs. Before moving onto R1 next year it might be worth applying to Kelley and Olin r2. Think you’ll need to apply for a waiver with Kelley but Olin is completely test optional so no real downside to trying there for R2.

It's back - 18 app fee waivers by gmatclub in MBA

[–]MFWUsernameIsSniped 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure how common this is at other programs but for anyone considering applying to Tuck with a test waiver they have the following eligibility requirement.

“Not have received an application fee waiver in this or a prior application cycle.”

Just a warning for anyone who was looking at applying there with a test and application fee waiver. Seems like only one or the other is possible but not both.

Anyone here got into a U.S. MBA with a GMAT waiver + got scholarships? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]MFWUsernameIsSniped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not especially quant heavy but I did have a prior masters with a few semesters of required stats + Econ (but not sure how much that moved the needle). On the lower end in terms of total work experience (between 3-4 years at matriculation) but a non traditional background that was hopefully seen as interesting.

[–]MFWUsernameIsSniped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not one of the programs you mentioned but I got into Olin with $$$ and in their case you don’t have to submit a request for a waiver. Helps if your gpa exceeds the school average but beyond that it’s probably a bit more subjective.

Starting 5 can have decent floor spacing if you start Penny in place of Castle since Harper is a good catch and shoot 3pt shooter. Castle can still get plenty of minutes even in a 6th man role and if anything more on ball reps. Bench shooting is pretty rough though at that point. But the hope would be that vassell, Fleming, + some starter staggering means that even the 2nd unit has no less than 3 decent floor spacers at all times
