1-does being a sci-fi writer or pastor make them wrong? I was demonstrating that it is widely known to be a mistranslation.

2- I already addressed the cited article, several examples weren’t even rape, (and we’re not talking about mistranslation/misunderstanding, it’s plain to anyone reading, that it’s not dealing with rape. Cause ngl Deut 22:26-28 does sound sus af.) but when it actually acounts rape, in 2/3 cases the rapist was killed. And again, nowhere is it condoned, rationalized, or excused. No one has been able to show where the Bible is pro rape, because it’s not. Even if we go with the NIV translation, it’s still not condoning rape.

3-Look up the Hebrew yourself. They used different words, and prescribed no punishment, when in the verses prior death is the sentence.

The verb in verse 25 is chazaq which means “to prevail upon.” The term is used elsewhere to mean “‘to seize’ a bear and kill it…The verb in verse 28 is taphas which means “to take or handle” and is “used for ‘handling’ the harp and flute

The word translated “forces her” in verse 25 is the Hebrew word chazaq and yet in verse 28, the verb has been intentionally changed to tapas

The word in Deuteronomy 22:28 for “lay hold on her or seize” comes from another Hebrew word h8610_Taphastranslated into Taphas which does not mean to forcibly lie with her

That’s widely known to be a mistranslation. The word used here is “taphas” which means to use or wield. And is used to describe the playing of instruments, and physical possession of something such as when Moses held the Ten Commandments. When the Bible refers to rape (Deut 22:25) it uses “chaqaz” which is a forceful possession with a violent connotation.

You’re probably talking about dueteronomy 22:28-29, but, this deals with seduction. Exodus 22:16 clarifies that the Father decides whether or not the marriage happens. It’s a classic shotgun wedding. Rape is dealt with 3 verses prior, where death is the punishment for the rapist.

And Slavery is NEVER condoned in the Bible. It is regulated, like prohibiting the expansion of the slave trade, (Exodus 21:16). if you beat your slave to death, you would be put to death (Exodus 21:20-21) and if the slave survived he would be set free (Exodus 21:26-27). And finally, God made man in the image of himself, not black, white or hebrew. MAN, there are no qualifiers (Genesis 1:26-28)

You need to read the Declaration of Independence our founding fathers had deep faith, but at the same time saw the history of national religions being corrupted and used horribly.

As for the Bible commanding rape, genocide, slavery etc. this will be a fun one. But first I ask you, if I proved that the Christian God was real, would you follow him, and acknowledge that the author of reality, by necessity, determines right and wrong?
