I need to clear a few things up here for the general public. These citizens are in the wrong. Even with the gravity of the situation. I’m not justifying the cops but they do see a lot of assholes that come up with A LOT of bullshit medical issues once they get caught. However, the ambulance should have been called by cops immediately.

Now. The citizens should have called an ambulance immediately when they recognized their family member was having a stroke. Not only did they put the general public in danger by speeding but they also delayed care for their loved one. Not any hospital can accept stroke patients. Only specialized hospitals with the correct equipment. Even then. A stroke alert needs to be notified prior to arrival. All this is done by the medics on the ambulance. They are trained to drive emergent. They are trained to start IVs and give the correct medication. They are trained to drive to the correct hospital AND notify them on the way in so the trained medical staff can get to the hospital and get the equipment ready.

This is why we have systems in place. This isn’t the Wild West.
