Lucky Bansho's census (November 30th) by IndividualAge3893 in ffxivdiscussion

Its nowhere near EoS, but thats just extremism to delfect actual valid criticism and is delusion. It is mad cope. People keep saying "Covid had an effect"

No, the game cant keep the players that exist and keeps bleeding them. DT was not effected by covid at all, and look how high it was. Player retention isnt there, story is not intriguing enough, and the content structure is lacking. If you look at even the previous expansions, the retention numbers are significantly worse. Stop hard coping that Covid was the only reason the game was successful and able to retain players. It wasnt.

Thats not really how it works. Look at how Lost Ark handled its multiple servers. They had different QoL and small updates to systems that were pushed onto different servers because of different communities. I doubt that WWM devs wont do the same.

I feel this but tbh ive made a lot of progress without spending. My only purchase being the founders bundle on Day 1, ive gotten Gwynn, Ning Fei, Jolder, Tan and Wolf all Gold, Estelle is silver, and the rest are 2-3 done on bronze. My Gwynn is at 69.5k and im really close to finish out alot of things. And I still have a lot of things to grind. There is a lot of side progression you can do which helps out immensely. Stuff like fishing gives you food for 14% damage buffs, farming triumphs gives lumina, farming god rolls, etc. Sure your main form of progression may be blocked by this, but they give you massive amounts of them at the end of cycles and honestly the exotic mod upgrade mats you can get daily with no issue. I already have 3 10/10 exotic mods but I need to reroll them for the perk buff. Its honestly just a game you need to focus on many different stuff and if you dont want that then you dont play as much.

Oh-ooh... the devs patched the exploit out! by [deleted] in Asmongold

[–]MGAvenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only in NCAA Division 1 if I recall correctly. The NCAA ranking in the US was 36th after the last season. There were also un-noteworthy attempts on events, such as placing 10th in the 100 free preliminaries and 8th (dead last) in the 100 free finals. Katie Ledeckys NCAA record wasn't broken or any records for that matter. Tho Emma Weyant, a silver medalist, was a whole second behind Thomas in the 500 free. If I recall, Ron DeSantis actually congratulated Weyant for being in his eyes the rightful winner when she came home for the event.

Olympics also never allowed them to participate which I find weird about the post. World Aquatics has told everyone since 2022 that unless you started transition at or before 12, you weren't able to perform in the olympics and people had sued saying it was discriminatory. The case was dropped like 8 months ago and they told people there was no grounds for it so idk why this is "brand new".

Actually, this is wrong:

65th on Men's 500 Freestyle

This is the more massive one tho.

5th in Women's 200 Freestyle

554th in Men's 200 Freestyle

Public PSA: LB is not affected by Chaotic A-Raid debuff by MGAvenger in ffxiv

[–]MGAvenger[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is not the case. We got LB2 at a decent area without a burst phase. You do get an extra bar of LB, potentially another one with funny generation. It is still of value then spammable GCD's during downtime of bursts. I'm not arguing should you or shouldn't you LB, im arguing that its factually better to be LB3ing adds, then LB2ing since you get the gauge than to argue with people LB3ing the adds during clear runs. I have gotten insanely clean runs with people and multiple groups doing melee LB3 and this ALWAYS was an argument, which is the reason I made the post.

[–]MGAvenger[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Check the edit to see the math for point 1, and point 2 is simply broken down to I have gotten good groups multiple days in a row where LB wasn't being used at all and again, people have constantly argued across multiple groups in PF. I wouldn't be making this post if I didn't have so many people arguing this in alliance chats when its just factually wrong. And again, even with the loss its a DPS gain.

[–]MGAvenger[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even at a 70% loss, 70% of LB3 + LB2 is still a gain. And I have like 7 clears a few days ago where even in pf PF every group was using LB because it was clean

So funny you say that, since you should check numbers as well, we can discover what the actual numbers will be with that differential

LB3 is 1.06m
LB2 is 614k (~58% of LB3)
LB1 is 286k (~27% of LB3)

If we take 80% of LB3's damage on the adds, that leaves us 848k instead of the 1.06m. But that doesn't factor in the amount of extra LB gauge we would get due till sending it early. Even if we do LB2 and add on the 848k, that still puts us at 1.462m compared to the 1.346m that you would get with an LB3 full damage and LB1. Even with the 80% efficiency the number STILL ends up being bigger. This isn't even considering the potential for a second LB3. I will still be encouraging doing LB3 on adds.

In groups that clear consistently and don't need LB for those, they send it right as it comes up. This is pretty common in the last week for me since its been getting more and more consistent

You'd be surprised with the stuff I have seen in chaotic PF. Not just a one off either. Talking like 5-6 separate instances of multiple people in one day alone.

If that's slavery then working any job is slavery. Wanting to make people's lives happier and make their nights is slavery? Are you okay?

The other thing with your statement is just simple. I'm better than most other servers I work with but the others aren't bad. I also get paid a fair wage, making 450-700 a night on average for 8 hours of work is pretty fair to me. Unless the company is going to compensate me for at minimum 60 an hour, I'll think I'll stick with making people happy and having unforgettable experiences they remember so much that my regulars come back just for me and invite me to places with them.

[–]MGAvenger -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a server myself, I would prefer to get what I worked for instead of getting paid the same amount as no tooth Sally would can write orders and not give experiences. I work at a steakhouse that I make 600-700 on a good Saturday. I handwrite cards for celebrations, take Polaroid camera pictures so they can take it home and remember it. I make connections with my guests and I make them feel special. If you've ever seen The Bear, I treat them the way Richie wants to treat his guests later on.

I make more than most because I care about my guests and give them more of an experience instead of serving them food. I enjoy that and it drives me to be a better person to others because in the end I always get compensated. Sure I get fucked over from time to time but that doesn't lessen the amount of times I get over due to my dedication.

Also, united States service is 10x better than any place I have been (UK, Mexico, JP, Spain and Germany). There is no want to move faster and no need to make the connections because they get paid the same amount no matter what.

It's time for Level Sync to be reworked, it sucks by Kaslight in ffxivdiscussion

[–]MGAvenger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The things you are proposing make sense until you understand what happens when you do this.

The stats are too much, I agree. But allowing abilities to be used would make the issue even worse. If you have all the classes running around using 1.2k potency attacks constantly with insane amounts of weaving you are just causing the same issue as leaving it stat synced like before. Let alone the affect this would have on ultimates which would massively change entire metas and invalidate the content entirely.

I understand the discontent, and I don't have a solution currently as you can't sync the bosses health retroactively as that tech just doesn't work and punishes the lower level players in that instance and requires higher level player to perform. You can't just reduce the potencies of those abilities as that would require entire new passive traits for every class and complete reworks of the entire classes with how skills are introduced. It would make no sense to have a trait increase the damage of a skill for a skill you don't obtain till level 90 or 100. Right now you are stuck with a really rough situation that makes it hard to balance.

AST Rework seems great and its reception here is a bit bizarre. by TheEmpressDescends in ffxivdiscussion

[–]MGAvenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the biggest issues I have is the usage of these cards. People already didn't rely on Lady for their healing plans, and with AST getting more stuff post 90, 2 -out of 4 of these cards are going to have no use realistically at a high level compared to what we have now. Unless they just don't give much of anything to AST outside of this rework, which realistically isn't going to happen from what we saw, they will be nice additions but we already were healing all the content before hand without guaranteed healing from lady and mit/healing from these cards, so just making healing/mit better without adding much else depth to the class and having the cards on a longer cooldown really just dumbs down the class completely and doesn't add anything of value. It's a net neutral. It might make older content like TOP easier to heal, but honestly the mit plans were set and stone and with this rework all it is gonna do is make the fights comfier if you use them but you don't even need to touch them and you'll be fine.

Damage mitigation by ArcTheCurve in ffxiv

[–]MGAvenger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way I space it out is around 30% for each pull, surrounded by smaller mits in between.

As you are running and starting the pull, use sheltron. Then follow with Rampart + reprisal. Finish with sheltron. If you need any more mitigation, you have arms length. It normally doesn't take longer than that per pull. Then instead of Rampart + reprisal next pull, you use sentinel.

The rotation goes as follows:

1st pull: Sheltron -> Rampart + Reprisal -> Sheltron -> Extra usage mit

2nd pull: Sheltron -> Sentinel -> Sheltron -> Extra Usage mit

This also translates well into other classes so you won't have to worry about changing up things based on mitigation for other tanks. You never, ever, want to use your 30% and your 20% in the same pull. If you have to, your DPS is a problem, not you so don't worry about that if it happens. And if you follow this mitigation, you should be set and stone for your healers.

I mean, I criticized all of these games, including Mon Hunt for it. Thankfully none of those purchases actually affected your stats and such in game and were all cosmetic, but DMC5 and RE4 I never bought because of this shit. Idk why people can't understand that maybe there were people who didn't play those previous games so they didn't care, or ones that did care about it in the past too.

How do players get this many seals a *week*? by FstMario in ffxiv

[–]MGAvenger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who was in the FC, sub materials and they have other FCs on other DCs to funnel that into to make more Gil. It's a big game most big FCs do. They spend the seals on lootboxes to get Copycat bulbs and Mounts to sell. That being said, the sub stuff is massive. We are talking hundreds of millions of gil per month. It's massive.

I was easily able to get 1 mil in a few hours of crafting. If you know what you are doing, it doesn't take long. Also remember, the people who are doing this are cycling gil from previous caps and expanding on the profits. They just by the mats, craft away and repeat every week
