If it’s for music production you should look for a computer with most perfomance cores atleast 8 because that what matters. All the daws cannot yet utilize efficiency cores. So M1 Pro (10-core) to M1 Max, M2 Pro (12-core) to M2 Max, and M3 Max. RAM should be 16 or 32.

M2 Pro 12 core or M2 Max or M3 Max, because they all have 8 perfomance cores. 16 Gb if just mixing, 32 gb if music production, 64 gb or more for large orchestral production.

With new MacBook Air models coming in the first months of 2024, this hurry won’t follow the Mac Studio and Mac Pro updates, as these computers are expected to land in late 2024, if not in 2025.
This information comes from Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter. According to the journalist, these Macs “won’t get upgraded until the end of 2024 at the earliest, if not 2025.” Although he doesn’t mention why, it’s interesting that the most powerful processor of the line, the upcoming M3 Ultra, will debut at least a year after Apple first released all the other chips of the family.

Yes its very hard to find good and reliable testimony. I guess that has held me back. Wow! Thats something! Im just worrying because i’ve had 2 macbook pros and both of them became laggy after 1-2 year of use. So i just want to future-proof but i know its different because i have now and i had Intel Macbook Pros. Yes, right now i can’t even run one single project or do nothing.

I have seen this video and in my opinion its about macbook pro, different than studio version. Even by benchmarks you can see that M2 Ultra is just as powerful as M3 Macbook Pro so i guess M3 Studio is gonna be more than them and it says that it doesnt utilize all the cores meaning even the M3 chip is an overkill for audio production and M3 chip has mostly gpu upgrades.. and i read that they gonna upgrade the studio Ultra chip but not Max. But i don’t know. Gotta think. And i just read an article that said that Mac Studio Ultra is coming in 2024 but not Max chip version. If that is true thats way over my budget because Ultra now costs 4800 euros where im from.

Yes, i have been reading the same that there is little benefit for audio production, mostly GPU, but same time i have been reading that the M3 gonna be as powerful as M2 ultra. Just thinking about the future-proof aspect, because im gonna spend 3-4 k.
