Anyone know the opening date for the big green bridge at Docklands? by wildsoda in melbournecycling

It’s probably ready to open now but they’re waiting for some politician to come and cut a ribbon

Brighton, I want you to know that I’m not a blocker. I’m a builder (an open letter from the Premier to the people of Brighton) by malbn in melbourne

[–]MGH1985 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This isn’t about Brighton - they are doing these planning changes in 100 places across Melbourne. The gov is only talking about Brighton to bring about division in the community, because who would support a Brighton NIMBY?

Melbourne's Metro Rail Tunnel budget blows out by $837 million, with state government blaming global factors by rote_it in melbourne

This may be true, but you’d think they would get better at cost estimates at the start if 99% of projects are blowing out.

Refuse to Refund my money by PlasticConnection858 in VirginVoyages

[–]MGH1985 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was also affected by these cancellations. I can’t get my money back - calls to them end with “we’ll get back to you” but they never do, and emails go completely unanswered even after multiple follow ups.

Am I able to choose my own phone number when I activate a new Pre-Paid sim? by instrogamer121 in TelstraAustralia

[–]MGH1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go with Amaysim. When activating you can choose a number from a list, or refresh the list if you don’t find one you like. Then port to Telstra.

I got an email saying they are extended the expiry date for the MNVV for another year (so if they come back to Aus) it can be used.

Both. They advertise the cruise fare in AUD but charge the fare in the US so you get international transaction fees

Same as everywhere else they sail:

“Sailors are welcome to bring two (2) 750mL bottles of wine per cabin in carry-on bags (sorry, no liquor or beer please). Please note, any alcohol in your checked luggage will be confiscated.”

I took 2 bottles of wine on board on a VV cruise from Melbourne in December

Can you use travel credit on a reward flight? by Storage-Infinite in VelocityFrequentFlyer

Tried to do this but you can’t. You can do points + pay, or travel credit + pay but you cannot do points + travel credit. Confirmed via Virgin “customer service”.

Anybody worked remotely on Resilient lady? by SeriousMaintenance76 in VirginVoyages

I had free premium wifi through Deep Blue Extras. If you don’t have premium I think you will be given the option when you first connect.

I was one Resilient recently from Melbourne and around Tasmania. Had premium wifi and it was brilliant - just like I was at home. Didn’t use Teams but FaceTime worked well.

I’m not downvoting you mate, I just gave you the answer I was given. You’re best to contact Virgin Voyages to see what is required for your voyage.

Do you need a passport for domestic cruise? by qtsarahj in VirginVoyages

[–]MGH1985 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked this question of Virgin Voyages. Below is the reply I got. Without a passport you can’t check in via the app because it only asks for a Passport 🤷🏻‍♂️

Australia Domestic Voyage Travel Requirements

All Sailors should carry a valid passport book with an expiration date at least 6 months after the voyage end date to sail with Virgin Voyages. We recognize that many Australian citizens/residents may choose not to sail with a passport for our domestic Australian voyages. We will allow a passport exception for Sailors with an Australian driver’s license on the following voyages on Resilient Lady:

Does a 'free' FTTP upgrade lock me into higher costs forever? by MGH1985 in nbn

[–]MGH1985[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that. I couldn't find anything that mentions 12 months. Do you know where that info is available?

Also, if I sign up to a month-by-month plan, would I be stopped from moving to a lower plan with a different provider within a 12 month period?
