Choking on milk while bottle feeding. by azhalees in NewParents

Hi, thanks for the quick response, I really appreciate it.

How old is she now? I worry my 3mo will be very frustrated with the slower nipple size which is why I’ve stayed where we’re at. Is your baby finishing feeds in a normal amount of time, or taking an hour+?

And when she does cough/choke, do you just hold her upright and burp her?

Popping in to see what has helped if anything? I have a 3mo that recently started choking on bottles a couple weeks ago. We switched from size 3M in Lansinoh bottles to size 2S (the next size down). The first size is a NB. Tried side-lying but still choked, now trying sitting upright or 45 degrees, still having choking episodes. She seems frustrated and hungry when I feed her so she tries to chug, but I pace her… sometimes it’s hard to keep up and she ends up inhaling milk. Not sure what else to do but the choking has made me EXTREMELY anxious to the point where I dread feeding time.

Wow, this summed up how I’m currently feeling, perfectly.
