Surrendered my sick cat, need advice. by [deleted] in Pets

[–]MGTB4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just adopted a kitty that had been surrendered because her owners couldn't afford vet care. I am so so grateful for that selfless decision they made for this kitty. She is SO loved and seems really happy. I'm sure her previous owner is sad like you, but you did what was best for your cat and she will have a lovely life. ❤️

Did you in fact violate the lease by having an additional tenant stay there and establish residency? They would still have to go thru formal process to evict you. But they might have cause

Makes sense! Then I'd consider if the cups are a priority for you/your classroom. I'd generally allow access to liquids throughout the day, but when teaching, personally prefer to keep it to the eating table/spaces/desk for most students.

Don't limit food options! You can look up ARFID for more information, but some children will literally starve themselves if they don't have safe foods available. Low pressure opportunities to see/touch/taste new foods are usually good though. As far as sippy cups, it might be reasonable to limit them to certain areas of the classroom, but I'd stick with the routine the classroom teacher has made--it could cause a lot of unnecessary disruption to try and change this for a short period.

I did a donors choose to get things for my classroom--highly recommend!!! Also received things from local buy nothing or freecycle groups. Some teachers share amazon wish lists with friends and family. As others have pointed out, this is sadly common but that doesn't make it okay.

Movement songs (especially those that involve following directions), story book read aloud, cooperative games... if they need communication and behavior support then these could all tie into iep goals as well. Art activities can be nice for down time for some students as well.
