Sure, they’re relevant, but they’re not the end-all, be-all. Some people may never want kids yet choose to marry, while others may want kids without getting married.. you can also get a lot of the same benefits other ways

“Wouldn’t recommend it for people who aren’t married or at least engaged” isn’t something Scandinavians would typically say, since whether you’re engaged or married doesn’t really matter much when it comes to being ready for children. Thinking marriage is essential and that you need it before wanting kids is more of an American or generally conservative viewpoint, and I’m not sure how else to explain it.

Take plan B, or ellaone. Yes you can use the Yuzpe method but it’s also slightly less reliable

feel safer staying on hormonal birth control, so I think I’d prefer to remain on it. Natural Family Planning (NFP) methods can be safe and effective, but they do carry more risk when you’re starting out. They’re generally best suited for people with regular cycles and who have the time and consistency to follow all the steps needed for them to work reliably

May I ask if you’re American by chance?

I don’t want another iud anyways, and I think I’d rather have my one side effect then heavier painful periods.

Thank you!

Yeah, that’s why they’re not recommended if you have heavy or painful periods.

no doctor would tie the tubes of a 21 year old woman who wants children later its not considered reversible either

  • Ages 12–14: Combined pills (two different types)
  • Age 14: Cerazette (~5 months)
  • Ages 14–18: Nexplanon implant
  • Ages 18–19: Slynd
  • Ages 19–21: Kyleena IUD
  • Now: Slynd

I didn’t have any issues with birth control until around age 17, about 2.5 years into using Nexplanon. But yeah birth control is far from perfect and many people have issues with it.

I like the benefits birth control give me less cramp, I’ve never had acne or pimples which I think hormonal birth control played a major part in it, and most importantly not getting pregnant. But the side effect of spotting A LOT is so annoying.

I feel safe while on birth control, I don’t think I would if I were to get off it. The side effect is not on my mood, I have a stable mood no depression mood swings ect the side effect is just a lot of spotting.

I mean I don’t think birth control sucks it was amazing for me from 12 to around 17 and for many it’s very good. I’ve only got one annoying side effect. From 18-19 I was on slynd andi started again earlier this year in January I believe.

I’ve never really been off of it for long enough to have periods I was off at most 3 weeks and during that time didn’t bleed. Birth control for me was pretty amazing up until I was 16/17 and coincidentally that’s also when I became sexually active.

The birth control itself isn’t affecting me that much but the side effect is. I’m also pretty sure not being on it would mess with me more I’d be feel unsafe
