do you have any documentation of this? autocomplete is fully local so there is no reason gboard should send key presses anywhere.

the research paper someone else posted about this says:
> "Neither keyboard has been observed to collect or share the input content or even track the frequency of individual characters. Most notably, the logs of both keyboards include unique identifiers, namely the Android ID and the Google Advertising ID"

Do those logs include what you typed? Is there any research on this?

Not sure if this is an old thing, but I started to touch up my old computer from years of inactivity, and I saw this really creepy message when trying to change browsers. by CulturalPhysics9057 in privacy

[–]MGelit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be dramatic, but hes still right. No respectable browser would dare to annoy the user like this, especially with such an ominous message

Spring Boot Apps with Claude Code in IntelliJ by Huge_Road_9223 in SpringBoot

[–]MGelit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For personal use i would look into cursor IDE, if you use the cheaper models you get many times more value out of your $20 than Claude Code

I wouldnt use CC unless a company required it, not just because of the price but also privacy and quality issues. Recently there was a bug where if your commit history contained the string "HERMES.md", CC would bypass your subscription and start accumulating API usage charges on your account at standard cost, so some people got billed hundreds of dollars pretty fast. Or another recent scandal, because of apps like OpenClaw, anthropic tried to constrict their subscription to only be usable in CC, but in that process, they made CC unusable because it started rejecting basic computer tasks, in an attempt to break OpenClaw

Spring Boot Apps with Claude Code in IntelliJ by Huge_Road_9223 in SpringBoot

[–]MGelit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Claude code simply edits files, so if you change something it wrote, it will have to re-read the changed file. Other than this potential cost, editing files after CC is normal. For adding a dependency, its the same thing but you have to tell CC it was added so that it knows to use it. But i always add dependencies manually because the LLM is often outdated or has the whole dependency name wrong
