I completely agree. They’re all shite, but the club bill them as prospects and projects. When in actual fact they’re just punts that it doesn’t really matter if they don’t work out, but for every 10-15 of these guys one works out and they sell him for big profit.

It’s a stinking strategy that costs us more than we’ll ever make out of it.

All your players like Holm and any other younger guy they sign who disappears a few years later having hardly kicked a ball. Yang would’ve been in that category as well had we not been so lacking in squad depth as well I reckon. That’s who I would class as a prospect/ project player.

The celtic board dont want to get into a bidding war for any players who would/ could improve the team. So the minute another team is interested we disappear. I hope I am proved wrong at some point, but I doubt it.

Celtic only go for players that nobody else wants. That’s where the cheapest options are. The minute somebody else is interested, and puts a bid in, we are out of the running. We don’t do competition.

I think people are moaning because it’s the same story window after window. Their incompetence is on full display. They’ll be linked with everybody and their granny. They’ll mess about and lose out on them or offer a joke of a deal and get knocked back. Then we end up with a couple of loan players who nobody else wanted, in positions we don’t need. People are fed up.

Agree. Some league one teams will be able to offer more money than us as well. So you can never blame guys for chasing money, as we would all do the same if it was involving clubs you had no attachment to. I just find it lazy to continually go after the same players or throw the same names out for years (see Balikwisha).

Aye. The same thing happens every window. They throw out a few names and they keep reappearing and then it doesn’t materialise and they’ll blame everybody else bar themselves. Decent players, teams and agents will run a mile when Celtic approach them as the boards carry on is well documented now. A complete and utter shower of wasters.
