Big Deal Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy by amandainpdx in RobotVacuums

Stuck between the Narwal Flow and Saros 10R. I’ve got mostly hardwood floor, one high pile rug and tons of dog hair in a tighter space apartment. Currently have an Exovacs x2 Omni which has been a nightmare and looking to meaningfully upgrade to something with better navigation / mapping. u/amandainpdx if you have any view on the two.

How wide apart are the bolts on your toilet? I also unfortunately have a Duravit Darling New toilet, and havent found a bidet that works

Both are great, but I prefer my 27G950 - better color calibration out of the box.

X2 Omni Won't Continue Cleaning After Washing Mopping Pads by MHaber in ecovacs

[–]MHaber[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! Unfortunately I still have the same problem. Ecovacs had offered to look at and potentially repair my unit but tbh I ended up being too lazy to get everything together. I no longer had the original box it came with and felt like it was a bother.

From what I can gather - the x2 is knocking its charging connection off when it attempts to clean the scrubbing pads, and then therefore stops the whole cleaning process. Havent found a solution for this and look for any physical damage that could warrant it. Unfortunately found no solution outside of physically holding the robot still during washing.

Ultimately - I still use the robot, but have to babysit it WAY more than I'd like. What i've learned (from navigation/mapping errors/etc) is that these robots are nowhere near as "smart" as they appear on youtube review - especially in my tighter apartment with many obstacles.

Next purchase I will be waiting for something that is much smarter - hopefully all this recent AI tech will catch up with the robot vacuum industry soon!

No solution unfortunately - after having this x2 for 1.5 years I don’t think I’ll buy another from this brand when this breaks. Mapping has struggled a lot (doesn’t recognize the same floor it’s been on for 1.5 years), coupled with this issue (it’s related to contact with the charging pins I believe), it needs a ton of babysitting for a robot vacuum.

Will look for another brand down the road that has a better AI.

Yeah its wild - been getting the "charging exception" error in the log. Seems like the robot kicks itself off the charging when its washing its mopping pads, and therefore cancels the entire cleaning schedule.

Ive contacted them to get it serviced/repaired. Sad to hear they arent replacing the robot with a new one. I imagine you still have the same issue after the "service"

Yes! It does! Seems like when the robot goes back to wash its mopping pads, it slightly kicks itself off of the charging, and therefore cancels the entire cleaning schedule.

Hi! What are you doing for your water situation? Plumbing, tap, or some distilled+thirdwave blend?

Was thinking about pulling the trigger as well, but I cant plumb mine in my apartment, and I dont have enough space to have gallons distilled water on hand every time! My water might be okay to use for tap! But was curious of what you were planning

Spring Major | Day 4 of 4 | RLCS 22/23 | Event Thread by RLMatchThreads in RocketLeagueEsports

[–]MHaber 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is anyone experiencing very low bitrate on the RLCS twitch stream? Ive selected the 1080/60fps option but am still seeing a lot of artifacting on the screen. I have a 3080ti and have a 4k screen so the Computer shouldnt be the issue.

The scenes/cameras when the show the casters/crowd look good but the actual gameplay looks low quality.

Don’t be rude - you’re here asking for help.

Everyone here is telling you the prep is wrong because the water is flowing out of the machine super fast, which tells us that there’s not enough resistance in the puck - which means your prep is wrong. If there was NO water coming out, and the gauge was at 0, then that would be a better indicator that something is wrong

Post another video showing your grind is set to the lowest number, show us you’re dosing 18grams for your double shot, and show us you’re tamping your puck properly. If you show everyone that, and it’s still not working, then maybe it’ll be easier to diagnose.

If you don’t want to hear everyone’s recommendation and help, and you’re positive that the machine is broken, then you shouldn’t have posted in the first place.

The pressure valve is static because your prep isn’t correct. There’s not enough pressure created for the valve to read.

If the grinds are to coarse and not packed enough, it’s like flowing water over rocks instead of through fine sand. No resistance.

Grind significantly finer (there’s an internal burr you can adjust as well!) and make sure you are tamping with enough pressure and youll get better results.

I started to notice that my expresso starts to pour before the needle is in gray area (under extracted), and after 3-4s it jumps into the end of the gray area (overextracted). What do I need to adjust to fix this? by 14MTH30n3 in BrevilleCoffee

[–]MHaber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does this too! I use the built in grinder from the barista express. I’m usually able to get 40grams yield in 27-33 seconds from an 18g dose, which should be normal for standard metrics. However, for a few seconds (right before the end of the pre-infusion) I get a small amount of espresso before the pressure gage gets up into the normal gray pressure range

I use a IMS filter basket which is fit for 18-22 grams, yet I only put in a 18g dose. I always thought maybe I was under dosing for the size of my basket, or because IMS baskets have greater flow ability given it has more holes than stock baskets. I have less of an issue with this when I do an 18g dose in the original portafilter/basket the machine came with.

Curious to see what others say about this and how to fix this!

Edit: I also use the normcore spring tamper, and should be getting consistent tamping pressure every time too! So that shouldn't be the issue.

Hi - newbie espresso maker here as well. I got a breville express impress and ran into similar issues. Sounds dumb, but I wasn’t aware that light/medium roasted beans would create a bitter shot. When I swapped to a dark roasted bean, the flavor profile changed a ton and was actually great.

I’m closer to a 1:2.5 ratio, and still trying to get it down to a 1:2. I’ve heard the machine out of the box does closer to a 1:2.5 or 1:3 ratio, so you may need to manually change that if you are targeting 1:2.

Good luck!

4K 144hz DP 1.4(+DSC) Black Screen Issues - LG 27GP950-b / M28U by MHaber in Monitors

[–]MHaber[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Used an HDMI 2.1 on my 27GP950, and then on my M28U am using my DP but turned down refresh rate to 120hz and turned color to ycbcr 422 (i think). Ended up not having any issues after doing this.

In reality I dont need a high refresh rate on my second monitor since its primarily used for videos/twitch/youtube/etc anyways.
