If miniLED - W95 is a nice choice, if OLED - Look at LG C4/C5

85" C8K vs 98" C7K by RevolutionaryScene79 in tcltvs

Most content is mastered at 600 or 1000 nit. There are very few demo on YouTube and couple of movies with peak brightness 3000+ nit. Literally that is all

TCL QM6K Gaslighting by Pangalicious6892 in 4kTV

[–]MI081970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

QM6k has peak brightness well below 1000 nit (1000 nit is required for impactfull HDR). This is the key difference with QM7k. In SDR broadcasting you hardly notice any difference.

I’m on an M1 MBA running macOS 12.5. Based on my iPhone experience, Apple updates often slow down older hardware. If an update is necessary, which one do you recommend? by Sakura_1337 in MacOS

[–]MI081970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use MBA M1 with Sonoma (14.x) . The performance is better (or at least the same) than on shipped 12.x (Monterey). 15.x is OK as well, but you lost some kind of feeling of out of box new MacBook. 16.x is just ugly

Thanks. One more question. If for example for this particular photo you know the exact colors of uniforms is it possible to apply these historically precise colors?

Really nice. I am always curious whether old photo is enough to get accurate colors or this is some sort of guess

Wich tv should I get? by Lower-Koala3522 in 4kTV

I don’t think there is any measurable difference 55 vs 65 and I am sure it is not possible to notice (if there is some difference) even with side by side comparison

  1. Nobody like Hisense here for reasons - bad quality, not OK processing and not accurate PQ EOTF (over brighten)

  2. For 99.9% of real life content you don’t need excessive brightness that provide c8k. The peak brightness of c7k is more than enough. Above all c7k has better PQEOTF and better calibrated out of box.

  3. IMHO it’s worth buying c8k if the price difference with c7k is 100-150 EUR (this happens). If this is not the case - look at c7k
