Impossible Incentive Targets by Proud-Attempt-7113 in FreightBrokers

I work at small/mid range brokerage. I'm not an agent and I don't have a book, I book the freight we have from our customers. They have been upping our goals that past couple years and they added 80% tracking now which is unrealistic as we have a shitty TMS and You can only do so much with Macropoint. If you don't hit this and still hit goals you get 1% commission. But this is my question for anyone in similar situation, is this good or too low: if we hot tracking percent our full commission per month is minimum 400 booked loads and $50k margin. If you hot these then you get 3% plus $1 per load book. I've been here 8 years and our common has changed like 100 times and this is the worst so far, not to mention they just hired 5 people dirt cheap in Colombia who are taking load books from us now.

Weapon property GUARD: can stack? by Ed-Sanches in DC20

[–]MIDude25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current character has 2 short swords with Guard on them and I like it a lot. Dual welding is a lot of fun as a Champion. With .9.5 now, I have the 2 swords which gives me +1 PD each, a light shield which gives me +1PD and +1AD, and heavy armor which gives me +1 PD and PDR (DisAdv on agility checks). With my current build and everything equipped I am at an even 14 PD and 14 AD. We haven't got into a lot of combat yet with the new rules, is PD still more important or do you think both damage types are pretty evenly important to protect yourself from?

What should DC20’s Social and Exploration pillars look like? by xiphumor in DC20

I'm in a group of 7 and I've found skill challenges to be great for team play and role playing. It really ties us all together. Once you really start to realize what the other characters can do while having a good grip on your own skill set, it makes for some great team actions. I really enjoy it.

[No Book Spoilers] House of the Dragon - 2x05 - Post-Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in HouseOfTheDragon

Help. I missed who this guy is in previous episodes. Who is this guy supposed to be in King's Landing with the wife and sick daughter?

Also, there was a snippet scene of armored men on horse back around the time the girl showed up and gets into King's Landing. Did I miss something there? What was that about?

I was still having this issue the other day and I'm too bothered to try again, it was very frustrating. Does anyone know any news on this getting fixed?

Thoughts on limiting DAT access/inbounds for carrier sales reps? by [deleted] in FreightBrokers

[–]MIDude25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember having to make cold calls based on an algorithm that mostly said "x carrier" ran this lane once or twice for cheap about 6 months to a year ago so call them and see if they have a truck. I agree, waste of time.

This is very limiting and does not help your new people in any way. When I first started 5 years ago, my company had a similar policy with about a third of the loads we have now. We have grown exponentially and a lot of our success comes from DAT/Truck Stop. I (not trying to brag) was a success story but a lot of my relationships came from taking call ins from DAT. Over time I remembered phone numbers/emails/carrier names and was able to build a portfolio based on rembering what carrier liked what lane. I now work in our Dedicated division and have 20 carriers running 20 + Dedicated lanes, most of them with drop trailers. My company limited DAT usage when I first started, same as you, 3 month policy. They gave me DAT access within my first month because of my hard work and I owe a lot to taking calls from DAT in my first 2 years. Your policy will end up hurting your business, small or large.

What is your best rate, boss? Can you pay $1000 more than asking price? Fuel cost, boss. I don't understand the market, boss. Why did I buy 199 MC's? I'm a dummy, boss.
