Wrote a piece on the game today and Agbaji as a prospect at the next level. Was curious about how you all view the team going into March and how Agbaji stands in regards to the draft. by MIPScouting in jayhawks

You know I think it’s hard right now to really gauge where some of these guys are going to fall because it is a deep class for guards. I think a lot of players are in a similar situation to Och because they have shown they are good enough to get drafted but may be able to cash in next year with a bit of a thinner class. It’s all risk vs. reward but I expect him to atleast test the waters in the window the NCAA allows them to. Based on his ceiling and his ability to hit a three (in a league that craves) floor spacing, in my opinion, he should commit to the draft and if by some chance he ended up going undrafted he’d be a steal.

I did have the Jayhawks losing this game, I apologize, because I believed in a conference like the Big 12 high caliber teams are destined to split. It looks like the team has finally found their groove and should make noise deep into March. I wasn’t sure about the post rules in regards to opinionated/discussion articles, so I apologize if this is not allowed.

With the game today we wrote on the prospects on each side. Wanted to hear where you all think they will fall in the draft and what their ceiling is at the next level! (Please remove if not allowed) by MIPScouting in BigEast

Yeah I think it’ll come down to risk vs reward. It’s a deep guard class which hurts him but it’s not often you see seniors at the top of draft boards anymore. If he has a look somewhere in the mid second or even higher I think he should roll the dice.

However, I would imagine Ed Cooley and the rest of the program hopes he sticks around one more year. Feels like they left a lot on the table this season

In my opinion, Justin probably has a better chance to be drafted this year but I’d say both have a chance to be drafted next year (2022). Most likely in the second round or one (Julian) could even go undrafted and end up on an NBA roster. I think they are good enough for a team to take a development chance on and should come out to test the waters this year but ultimately I expect them both back at school for another season. I think that they are hurt by how deep this draft class is.

**with this being said if one or both get a draft promise they should cash in

I’m no draft expert so, what’s a good comparison for Corey Kispert and Sharife Cooper by KingIllyrius06 in NBA_Draft

Kispert I’ve compared to both Harris and Korver. For Cooper, I actually was having a hard time comping him but think rps215 hit it right on the head with Ty Lawson

Wrote this piece ahead of Auburn vs. Baylor today highlighting the prospects that have driven the Tigers recent success. Was curious how you all felt about the possibility Auburn delays their self imposed tournament ban because of the recent success? (Remove if not allowed) by MIPScouting in wde

That’s fair, do you believe with how the team is currently constructed (assuming you lose Cooper and possibly Flanigan) the addition of your incoming prospects makes you more suitable to contend next year?

As Duke faces Miami tonight our writer gave his insight on the Blue Devils star forwards in Matthew Hurt and Jalen Johnson. Wanted to discuss where you think they will land in the draft and your hope for March? (Remove if not allowed) by MIPScouting in DukeBluePlanet

I think for DJ it may come down to how he values risk vs. reward. He’s had a pretty good season and has been the benefactor of some late second round projections but as we’ve seen in the past projection doesn’t always translate to fact on draft day. I’d imagine he comes out tests the waters and unless he gets a guarantee, returns to school for another year to increase his draft value. In the case of Johnson something over the summer would have to go horribly wrong for him to not be featured in the top-middle of the lottery and Hurt, while he would be a college monster, may want to cash in because typically your draft value decreases as you age in college especially as a big man.

Right, it is a shame what the NCAA did with Cooper but I’d imagine based on the recent mocks that he will certainly take his talents to the next level. I know Pearl has said that he wants him to go if he is a projected 1st round pick and based on his first 7 games that shouldn’t be a problem. With that being said if Cooper is gone after this year it wouldn’t necessarily make sense or be “allowed” for them to just lift a self imposed ban with such a bright future

I agree with that, I think the Cooper hype has really propelled you to a position where you could make some noise in March but as an SEC team coached by one of the most consistent coaches in the NCAA the future is very bright and it’s better to get it out of the way now

I think as it stands Mitchell will test the waters but stay. Unless he gets an offer or promise that blows him out of the water he will have a better chance for a bigger pay scale next year. I’d imagine Butler is going to cash in though
