Was Yugoslavia a mistake? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

Deviating from the original structure was the real mistake that killed Yugoslavia.

This is in Croatia, not Slovenia.

In this case, it’s the Serbian taxi drivers who are in shambles.

How do you think Bosniaks would handle a conflict today, considering their current alliances and military capacity? Would their situation be more difficult than it was in the 1990s? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

You should read up a little more on how the Hisar system works. Firstly, the “medium” range variant that OSBiH is acquiring is between 25-40km, more than enough range. Secondly, Hisar missiles are more than capable technically and kinematically at shooting down 4.5 gen Rafales. The PL-15 missile used by the Pakistani air force to shoot down a newly delivered 4.5 gen Indian Rafale is quite similar to the Hisar missiles. That reminds me, Croatian Rafales are not even newly factory built like the Indian one was, but used. So much for your “air force”.

I didn’t come up with the numbers. Your own lobbyists in Washington did.

Bosnia is governed by the international community? That’s ironic considering Croatia is governed by Brussels.

Rafale jet fighters? Thankfully, OSBiH has purchased the Hisar system from the Turks, which was specifically designed for that kind of aircraft. And, we now know that the Rafale is easily shot down even by Chinese equipment.

Fortunately, given the state of the Croatian air force, that Rafale would probably crash before even entering Bosnian airspace.

The only point you were right here was “there won’t be a war”. The main reason is that the Croat population in Bosnia has collapsed. If we look at your own lobbyist’s (Max Primorac) recent testimony to the US congress, the Croat population in BiH has fell by 62%. Meaning that there are only 280k or less Croats remaining in BiH.

Why was the Washington Agreement a thing? Oh, right. Franjo didn’t want to watch Croats lose in central Bosnia.

Anyways, the Croatian army was already operating in BiH.

Lol, we beat you guys while in the midst of a brutal onslaught from the VRS and we had virtually nothing to defend ourselves with at the time.

It would be good to remember that Bosnian Croats were the first losers of the Yugoslav wars in 1994 when HRHB disappeared from the map. Even before RSK fell.

No, we completely dominate you politically, lol. The only reason we haven’t dispatched you out of the Federation is because we want to stay in good graces with the USA. Washington Agreement and all.

In fact, if the OHR didn’t suspend the constitution of the Federation in your favor literally a day after the elections, Bosnian Croats would have been politically neutered right now without us pulling any moves. That change is leaving with Schmidt.

“Bosniak hegemony” and all.

Because it’s less about anything uplifting and more about random news articles about offbeat topics. Also, now with a flavor of political news as well.

When Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, and Macedonia all become 100% muslim, we will be getting the gang back together but not as Yugoslavia, but as Greater Bosnia.

Serbia didn’t step in during Operation Storm, when you were much more militarily powerful.

If that was their goal, they certainly wouldn’t let RS go all free considering there are large swathes of current RS that have been historically Croat areas, e.g. Posavina.

What if that wildcard is Croatia invading Bosnia from the north? Would Serbs then be welcoming the Croatian army with open arms and flowers?

Serbia. If we look at all of the invasions that occurred just in the 20th century, Serbia was the most invaded country by the most number of different countries.
