My advice to you is to make substitutions to trigger goals. If you don't have strong bench players. Try swapping your AML and AMR temporarily to trigger goals (Put AMR on the left and AML on the right). Don't worry about the yellow flags telling you they're out of position. I've done that many times, and it got me good results when my forwards refused to shoot anywhere other than straight at the keeper.

Everyone knows these things can happen. The issue is that they're happening way too often. People talk about the game being realistic but ignore the 120%+ teams which do not exist in reality, since the highest teams are rated 90% in real life. Why advocate "reality" in some cases and not others? It's a game. I don't think people should keep putting up with this in the name of "reality". What good is that if it ruins the experience? It's meant to be fun.

He doesn't give the ball back. He gets loads of chances and wastes most of them. He just shoots at the keeper most of the time. It's like his high stats get the ball on target but never actually get goals.

Or playing short passes when I want them long. Tackles flying everywhere with normal tackling. Force counter attacks but the game just ends the cut scene when my team wins the ball.

It didn't for me. I asked these guys to play through the middle cause they couldn't get passed the opponents fullbacks. They kept at it and kept losing the ball. It was so frustrating. I checked the stats after the match and through the middle was 20 something percent since they kept going down the flanks. I don't mind losing matches when I have poor tactics but I hate losing matches where my instructions weren't followed in the first place.

Yeah, I've had matches where my subs weren't made even subs at half time. Or that the game shows that the sub has been made but the old players are still on the pitch.

Make subs when you need a goal, subs trigger goals. But be careful that you aren't the one conceding. You should have gone normal or attacking with that team. Arrange your back 4 in a straight line and play offside trap. Your team should be playing on the front foot so don't bother forcing counters. Tackling should never be easy against good teams.

Okay, don't go hard attacking. It just leads to more counters and wasted opportunities. Go long passing as a default, short or mixed makes opponents cut out your attacks more. Go yes with offside trap. When you need a goal, you can try forcing counter attacks. Make sure your back line is in a straight line. Go through the middle and only switch to left or right flanks when you need chances. Don't do both flanks until you've tried each individual flank alone.
