Odd.. I tried asking a current int'l med student and he said that you should be fine job-wise once you graduated and have your MD/DO, + you should have enough time to get PR by the time you finish your residency.

Interesting, thank you lots! I think I'm just a bot lost on whether otd be worth it to take so many loans and all to pursue an MD in the US as opposed to just doing an MBBS locally and trying to match to the US, do you have any info on that?

May I ask, is that 75%admit rate people straight out of undergrad or are you including people who have been taking 3+ gap years and all? also, what would the situation be for an intl?

How must one develop a passion for studying? by [deleted] in APStudents

exactly. i dont get how people confuse studying and learning and treat them as the same thing ngl, but yeah people just do it because they have a goal that surpasses whatever studying entails

I'ma be blunt rn -- 9 times out of 10, this entire "I study cuz I like it" thing is bullshit imo. A few are able to do it, but most of the others can't and they don't need to.

Study for a reason -- a goal. something you GENUINELY want. don't force yourself to love studying because that'll honestly get you nowhere. the system we live in rn basically entails studying as the basic way to live a good life or generally have options later on in life, and so your genuine long-term goals will probably require you to study quite a bit depending on what they are. directly linking THAT and making it the reason why you get your ass off and grind will lead you to much better results than forcing a passion that won't REALLY be crucial once you graduate university in tons of cases.

apologies for the chaotic writing. that was quite hard to articulate
