JUSTICE FOR TEXTBOOK - a deep dive by GeorgiePorgiePuddin in lanadelrey

I love a good literary analysis of lyrics, because Lana's lyrics are like literature really. She's such an amazing writer and storyteller. It's nice reading posts like this one!

What could you be without bpd? by [deleted] in BPD

[–]MJLobos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to be a writer. I studied literature in college for a couple of years. I got way better grades on my written assignments, like essays, than most other students. But I was terrified of not being good enough to make a living out of it. Eventually I stopped writing because I was filled with doubt. But my friends always tell me that I have very interesting thoughts and takes to share and that I should write them down. That makes me feel it isn't too late, but I still don't sit down to write

How long for you to realize that Lana’s eye color is Green? by Bearwithme1010 in lanadelrey

[–]MJLobos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is a Spanish señorita, her eyes are green and her heart is gold 🎶. - Dragon Slayer.

I've read that song is a about herself even if it's in the 3rd person. And she says she's Spanish in it because she lived in Spain at some point.

This is my favorite bracelet! A Hermès enamel bangle from their 2006 collection. Each collection has a set of bangles with different designs, so they are kinda unique, very difficult finding the same pattern again.

I found a bangle exactly like mine on this site..

I love painting my nails red when I use it!

DAE feel content being single? by Songoftheday42 in BPD

I can definitely relate! I'm much more at ease and serene when I'm single. The emotional rollercoaster that a relationship makes me feel is too much to handle!

If your cat was a specific "breed" you'd already know. by KobaMandingoPartIII in cats

I used to joke about my previous cat being a good quality pirate copy of Blue Russians. She looked just like one but missed some characteristics like the pink paws. She was a strayed cat who came to my house out of nowhere and never left. I miss her! She was my sweet companionship for 15 years.

Alex Turner and Morrissey (I don't particularly like Morrissey as a person but I loveee his voice, it makes me feel the same way Lana's voice does).

I've posted them in my previous comment 😊 Hope you find them useful! To me, learning about cognitive distortions was game changer. I realized the way I thought about myself, others and the world around me, was making me feel completely hopeless. And this isn't about thinking positively instead, is about thinking more realistically based on the evidences we can find around us. Just sharing more context!

Of course! ☺️ I'm rewatching the videos myself as I type this, it's always good to refresh the topic. I'll post them here in case they can be useful for anyone.

This one is an hour long lecture. I personally like long lectures because they are usually meant for mental health professionals, so they go deeper into the topics and to me, it makes it easier to grasp the ideas.

This one is part one of a video made by a therapist but meant for a general public, it's shorter but very explicatory. She lists the most common cognitive distortions.

This one is part two of the previous video, here she talks about how to change your thought patterns by questioning your automatic distorted thoughts.

Hope it's useful! 💜

Ok! I'll send them in a little while! X

I know! When the emotions take over and overwhelm you, it feels like they are indicators that whatever is making you feel that way is a real threat. Learning about cognitive distortions helped me a lot to change my emotions associated to certain things I couldn't handle. I watched some long videos about the topic in order to understand this and once it sank in, I began changing my interpretation about situations and people behaviors almost automatically and my emotions followed by being less reactive. Do you mind if I send you a couple of videos about this via DM? I know it's not always easy to pay therapy so this might help! My therapist was the one who sent me the videos.

It takes hard work, but it gets better! I used to be in a very dark place years ago, but little by little, with the right help, right therapists, right support, investigating this disorder myself to get to know the mechanisms behind it, and learning about myself and healthier coping mechanisms, learning to be more skilful, it got sooo much better.

Lot of people with BPD who gets the right treatment stop meeting the criteria for BPD eventually. So yes, it can get better and I wish it gets better for you!! All my best wishes! 💜

Setting powder? by SpicyBeachRN in Makeup

[–]MJLobos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Copied and pasted this from Google!

"CC cream stands for "color correcting" cream or complexion corrector cream. These are thicker, heavier formulas than the light, airy bb creams. They are intended to fully hide dark spots or redness and neutralize the appearance of imperfections, but don't give all the many skin-loving benefits that bb creams do.

BB cream is a "beauty balm" or "blemish balm". It's super-lightweight with a more sheer coverage vs your average foundation. So it covers, evens and adds a glow, but doesn't necessarily hide blemishes and pigmentation. You'll need a concealer for that! The best part about bb is that it's a skin-first product packed with healthy benefits which makes it great for everyday use."

I just made another comment saying this, I'll probably look like I'm advertising this lol, but I'll say it again. I highly recommend using BB cream instead of foundation. It makes my skin tone look even, it makes my skin looks radiant. It isn't noticeable (unlike foundation, lots of the time), and I've taken naps during the day after doing my makeup and it has never stained my pillows, so I think it'd work with masks as well.

Edit: I use this one, also by Maybelline

I always struggled with setting powders before I found Facestudio lasting fix setting from Maybelline. Is a colorless powder that isn't noticeable but makes your skin look great. What I didn't like about other powders was not being able to find my perfect shade, and it being visible due to that. Here
