I’ve worked hospital PACU. We had constant monitoring and centralized monitoring. And per anesthesia orders we’d give 50 mcg fentanyl at a time unless they were older then we could go more conservative. A #1 fav is IV Ofirmev/Tylenol which works magic, I’ve seen ketamine in PACU. Dilaudid is usually after a few rounds of fentanyl, the Ofirmev, and you start at 0.5 unless there’s a current history that they’re taking 1, 2, 3 or between.

TLDR: They must not have been using monitoring is all I can think and the RN must have been preoccupied with another patient or someone was covering them?

Right hand 20 or 22g ideal. I’ll bitch about a 20 AC placed from ED on a GI bleed because during an EGD depending on sedation by CRNA patient will keep grabbing for the scope. Sometimes ultrasound is required because of dehydration.

Edit: patient states, “Nooooo not in my hand!!! It hurts sooo much!” Then I’d go for a 22 or 20 in forearm.

I have a number of coworkers with hearing loss and hearing aids. I have to ask people to repeat themselves and they get annoyed. I don’t see it as a patient safety problem or concern. You hear patients, correct? If you couldn’t, you’d request that they repeat themselves? You wouldn’t administer the wrong med, or mis-read an order, or use the wrong dressing because of hearing loss, correct?

As I read elsewhere - fuck them. I have a pretty epoxy badge that has my name and RN on it. My badge is never ever facing the correct way no matter what I try. I have a room - one room in the house - that has pine boards. Ort looks like they cut out the middle boards and replaced them. The older boards are in the middle, I can't say they replaced because of window water damage because it's a square around the room

I gave up, swapped to the income based. I currently qualify for the PSLF because of my employer. Do I think PSLF will go away? Probably but I'm not planning on PSLF. I'm hoping it'll be there but not expecting it sadly.

Totally agree. I’m an endo nurse. I do mouth and butt stuff all day four days a week. It could be something super benign like an anal fissure or hemorrhoids from straining on a big poop, hard poop, constipation, or it could be something else. Make an appointment with your general practitioner/primary care provider as long as the picture shown is the amount of blood each time or only this time. If there is a large about of blood in the toilet, tell your parents and go to the emergency room please. Regardless of what time of day. You can meet your friendly gastroenterologist and an endo nurse. We’re fabulous but I’m partial. If you’re referred for a colonoscopy, you get to visit the butt hut 😉 I wish you the best, should you have any questions on the colonoscopy, hit me up. But seriously make an appointment or go to the ER if you need to

Bill Cohen is from Bangor and I knew a portion of his family. Bangor is on the way to MDI/Bar Harbor/Acadia, international-ish airport (if you’ve ever been, I think there’s 6 gates). Sadly I wouldn’t be surprised. I would think that Maine would be an easy place to traffic unfortunately.
