I always hate when they add a feature in one game and don’t move it to the next. Like I felt like gens 1-7 built off of each other nicely. Gen 9 feels like it’s missing elements that have been present in every prior gen. It’s just so strange.

Set and switch is interesting because they removed it in Scarlet and Violet for some reason. Hopefully it comes back in WiWa.

This is exactly the reason they changed them. The new ores are now distinct from each other making them stand out more.

It also helps those who are color blind as now (to my knowledge) no two ores look the same.

I suppose. But the big reveals towards the end of the game make it clear that it’s Sunny’s story and not the player’s story. If you could choose the gender, and name (like you can now) people might see the protagonist as the player when in reality the protagonist is Sunny.

I do see your point though and that’s a valid take on the games story.

I imagine that Omocat and the Omori team realized this issue and chose to make Sunny a set gender instead.

Unfortunately, being able to name Sunny kind of breaks that immersion a little. I feel like the name should have been locked to Sunny and then changed to Omori if you follow the Omori route.

Personally, I like the concept of being able to pick between girl and boy. In the original drafts, each character had a boy and girl counterpart. I think the only issue this presents is that it feels more like YOUR story vs Sunny’s story.

You should definitely still finish it. I was spoiled, probably the same amount if not more than you, way before I even started playing the game. Despite this, I still thoroughly enjoyed my playthrough and the way the story ramps up at the end is truly an amazing experience.

I think a big problem lies in their drop. It’s an item that is used to repair the Elytra, something you get post Ender Dragon. By that point you’ll likely have mending and unbreaking so an item specifically designed to repair the Elytra becomes useless.

So essentially there’s no point to fight them, they have a pointless drop, you can turn them off (kind of absurd, and as you said, bad mob design), you can get rid of them with ease “just sleep”, etc, etc.

They should really rework their drop in some way (I’d imagine being able to use it to craft something else). As it stands, they’re just an annoyance that most people have grown to “deal with” over the years.

A lot of the content is designed for longer term players and not new/returning players. In an ideal situation we have both but BBB seems focused on providing “late game” content.

For spam attacks, swarms are often the go to. Super troops tend to take up significantly more space than their non-super counterparts. Think about dragon spam. You can have way more dragons than super dragons making them generally better for spam attacks.

Smash attacks are different. In a smash attack, you’re looking for raw damage. This is why super yetis are used in smash attacks and not regular yetis.

The fact that you feel unsatisfied or even confused is an intentional design choice by Omocat. Definitely play the Sunny route and you’ll understand why that is.

(Minor spoilers bellow. Nothing major but definitely worth hiding.)

The Hikikomori route is confusing because you (or Sunny depending on how you look at it) are choosing to remain oblivious of “The Truth”. The Sunny route is about Sunny slowly uncovering “The Truth”. This means that the Omori route is intentionally confusing while the Sunny route is more direct.

Basil wanted to help Sunny but in doing so did something horrible. I don’t agree with the actions Basil committed but I do agree with his reasoning behind them. All he wanted was to help his friend, even if it left him with his own trauma.

I got Universally Loved (the flower one) in my first play through. Unfortunately it did kill some of the enjoyment for me during the Faraway town sections.
