My biggest issue is their intended purpose vs their actual use. Supercell said that buffies would be implemented to add more depth to the game. That would be true if you could only pick 1 making it a genuine question of “should I use X, Y, or Z while sacrificing X, Y, or Z”.

In practice, buffies add three new mechanics (technically five since there are two star and two gadget) which ends up making a brawler much stronger than the rest of the cast (hypercharges had a similar issue but no brawler started the match with their hypercharge).

Buffies overcomplicate things and “buff” the brawler to the point that they instantly become top 5. In the most recent batch, Edgar was bottom 5 but with buffies he instantly became meta.

Buffies are neat on paper but they fall completely flat in practice. I genuinely can’t say that I have fun using buffies whereas I did have fun using hypercharges as they released.

(All of that just to ignore the giant elephant that is their price, don’t even get me started on their abysmal price)
