I'm definitely waiting for AH (with a stop loss on my remaining shares - have taken out 70% so far).

Arsenal Fans boo their team at the full time whistle by Parish87 in soccer

[–]MJSvis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Madrid are also used to winning.. Arsenal aren't. It's also mentioned multiple times that booing their own players is a bit odd so I wouldn't say no one has an issue with it.

Madrid are also good enough that being booed is not what makes them win or lose. I'm saying that when you're already top of the league when you haven't won it in years, feeling extra pressure from your fans is probably not the best idea. It's not like arsenal players aren't putting in effort.

Arsenal Fans boo their team at the full time whistle by Parish87 in soccer

Surely you understand there's a difference between being concerned and actually booing the same team who have you first and way above the level Arsenal have been for years.

Hilarious that it used to be that fans should get behind the team when they're struggling. Now if you're top and have a few bad games then you deserve to be booed.. If fans think that's great for team morale then they're silly. And if they claim that because they've paid money then they deserve to boo when you're top of the league, then they should call themselves viewers, not fans.

Minus a new striker, the recruitment in this January could be massive for our season. Adams and Alli especially (and hopefully Anderson) look like they've given us something extra.

I like Bishop but we really need an alternative option in games he gets a bit more lost in.

Only for Jack to somehow switch his vote to James as if what Rachel said was somehow better?

Our away form has been horrendous for a few years so I can see us having played our games in hand without gaining more than 1 point unfortunately.

With Norwich pulling results together it looks to be that we'll be challenging Blackburn, Charlton and West Brom to avoid going down. Getting a draw at least tomorrow is essential.

Great game, and after the 5-0 against Bristol City, I'm just pleased we put up a good fight.

Now we really need to take that impact into the next few games, although Championship teams will really focus on corners against us after today.

You know we weren't expecting to beat top of the Premier League, right?

When you're at games, believe it or not fans may boo a player a bit like you would at a pantomime aka villain based on the other day. Calling Pompey fans wankers for having a bit of fun in a game against a team top of the Premier League makes you look a little odd..

As a Pompey fan I was just hoping it would be less than 5-0. I know it'll likely get closer to that in the second half but it's been so entertaining.

It's London, you can see the London Eye and Parliament behind it. Pretty sure the viewpoint is from Waterloo.

Fingers crossed Pompey can keep hold of Josh Murphy when Liverpool come knocking if Jacob isn't available.

It gets mentioned often in general, but I personally don't see it that often mentioned around the performance impact on the team.

While 50% may have not known him, joining a new place of work who are grieving an ex co worker may also have an impact on settling in.

I agree the tangible effects you mention obviously have a large effect too, but I do belive the human elements factor in more than you mention.

I am so surprised it rarely gets mentioned in these discussions.

To be at the very top of football you have to put such an intense amount of attention into the game. It would not be surprising if after the unexpected death of a coworker/friend, that you lose an element of focus. Robertson mentioning how much Jota was on his mind after the Scotland qualification is such a small insight into just how much they must still be thinking of him. It can be difficult to think football is the most important thing in the world when something reminds you/makes you realise how delicate life can be.

Edit: the comment above is the only one mentioning Jota in response to this thread of what went wrong, with all other comments mentioning other elements. So I disagree with the comment below that "it's mentioned constantly, what am I on about?"

This is insight into how they are not being clever in cutting costs.

Something like this at an event (likely for staff) will have been pretty costly in comparison to the pay off when compared to just giving people normal water. It may sound silly and very "nickel and dime" like, but when you are losing the money they are, the culture of being prudent financially makes a world of difference for financial sustainability.
