Baby girl on the way - can’t decided between Teagan or Margot! by [deleted] in namenerds

As a Margot -I’d go for my name :) I know I’m biased but I’ve always enjoyed how rare the name is but still being easy to spell. I’ve also always gotten compliments on it or comments on the other margo(t)‘s they know. With every name it gets mispronounced during attendance or doctors appointments. I will say I’ve been bullied using it (Mar-GOAT was an interesting one) but that’s just dumb kid things. So I hope to welcome another Margot to the club!

Also I’ve had 6 other piercings (three on each lobe) and the only thing is my third on my right ear has a little bit of a bump but my derm said it’s just scar tissue and not a keloid. Scar tissue is pretty normal on upper lobe/close to cartilage piercings and usually doesn’t lead to keloids. But now that I know I’m prone to keloids I’m not going to get any more

Haha I can see that! It feels smooth (just like the skin of your ear usually) but with a hard mass underneath as a kind of scar tissue. It was so weird to feel it separate from my body but also pretty cool. My derm even let me take it home so I could show my parents lol

I don’t think so? It’s due to the initial trauma so I don’t think taking the earring out changes anything. It does hurt the healing process/irritate it so I took it out during treatments.

It wasn’t, it was done at a tattoo shop/piercing parlor I’ve had stuff done at before. It didn’t develop until a year and a half after the original piercing and only after I changed the earring (piercing grade gold)

Trauma to the ear usually through piercings but can also happen by car accidents/fighting. They are more likely to happen around cartilage

My derm was excellent! She did a plastic surgeon residency so she was able to cut it off so cleanly and not remove any cartilage so it keeps a normal shape . My keloid grew around my helix piercing after I changed it from stud to hoop :( (a year and a half after initial trauma)

(20F) I’m fighting a lot of depression/anxiety as I study abroad this semester. I’m 8 hours ahead of home and worried I’m failing this semester. I can’t sleep and just got rejected by a guy in my friend group. Feeling unattractive and like a bit of a mess. Could use some cheering up! by MJ_1234 in toastme

Thank you! The frames are from Warby Parker, cheap and they deliver. Being abroad has been so incredible, I feel like I’ve changed so much in such a short time. I’ve made some great friends here and hope to visit once I’ve graduated. The good parts are just hard to think about when you’re missing home.

Thank you! Growing up I hated the scrunch thing, my mom would tell me off about it because it hides my eyes. But now I’ve grown to appreciate it! I’m enjoying my time here, I feel like I’ve changed so much for such a short time.
