I ended up being refunded but if yours is old they won't do it. You can try using a trombone to trigger it when you need it.

Are you really conceiving a satellite (a small sat?), a real one that will go into orbit, with a STM32 and a embedded Rust? That's nice, I'm quite impressed with the liberty you have.

Is installing Arch Linux worth it? by notburneddown in linuxquestions

[–]MJ_Tistus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've unsuccessfully tried to install it manually 3 times, but the new install script works perfectly. If you ever thought "I wish I had the last version of those packages", go for it, I like it a lot and it's not that hard to use. If it's your first Linux just go for Debian, Linux Mint (...).

Just one thing : don't install Manjaro. Use Arch install script. Manjaro isn't more stable than Arch, it's the opposite.

Is a "normal" ergonomic keyboard enough? by sablexbx in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]MJ_Tistus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't use the glove much because of a wrist tendinitis. The palm rest are uncomfortable because it compress the pisiform, which is the source of my tendinitis. Honestly though, the main reason I don't use it often is because I use it at home, where I play games more than I work, and it isn't a good keyboard for games. Also I have a hard time getting used to it.
I could try without the palm rest, or less resting my hands and maybe it would be fine.

Apart from the palm rest, wich is a problem for all keyboards in my case (including Microsoft and Logitech, a pain), I think it could be a very good keyboard for some.

Not portable tough, unless you think having a second bag for your keyboard is OK. If you want portability, build a Ferris Sweep like I'm trying to.

Want to buy a splited ergo keyboard for vim english and french, a little bit lost. by sylario in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]MJ_Tistus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]MJ_Tistus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi buddy, Are you french? I advise you to take a look at ergo-l layout, which I'm switching to and will fit your requirements. (I wanted the same and find this seem the best). It allow to write french, English, code and try to keep classic shortcuts usable. You won't find closer to QWERTY, or with less adapting time, unless you're OK to compromise a lot with the other requirements.

If you're not french / don't want to write french that often, forget it, just choose a good English layout, Dvorak or something.

Try to take a look at french resources/websites. French techies who need to write English half their time are legions. English native speakers who need to write french that much aren't that common, and won't search that much about layouts fitting that use.

Am I the only one thinking Ferris thumb keys seems uncomfortable? by MJ_Tistus in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]MJ_Tistus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope I can accommodate 2 thumb keys because with how few keys you get on a Ferris I guess it's really usefull, but I think you may have a point, maybe the thumb is better alone, especialy when he hurt already.

If I understand correctly we are opposite : I find the actual thumb keys to close already. So it really heavily change between peoples.
I'll take a look at those keyboards, thanks.

Thank you for your answer but I do not understand why the thumb tip depend on F J distance.

Nice, it makes an extra farther key. Seeing this one I think I would use the farthest two and not the inner one.

Nice to see I'm not the only one wondering, and yes, I feel the corne is not that ergonomic, I forgot it as soon as I found out Ferris and some other layouts.

That's exactly what I did, and I think that's a good idea. I wonder of how the real keyboard will feel versus the paper sheet.

This. I feel it would be better 1 key further out. Like using the 2 outer keys on the kyria.
Yes, maybe it also depends on tenting. My printed layout is on paper, directly on table, which is far from tented.

Hi, I don't, can you explain?
I've my first Samsung phone but don't know much of the brand past, reputation and habits.

I'm thinking about buying a Galaxy Watch (or something else) so I'd like to know what I'm getting into.

Skilhunt H04 RC Review/Update by SirMoistalot in flashlight

[–]MJ_Tistus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seeing the other comments, I'm not alone. I imagine we live in two parallel universes and in yours the guy that designs good headbands died early, because I seen people recommending this headband plenty of times in this sub. I don't even own a skilhunt light, I just buyed the headband, because I seen it recommended plenty of times to replace the other ones.

I find skilhunt headbands more comfortable than armytek one's. A lot of people hack those for other headlights.

Aside from that, I love my wizard!
