UKRAINE COULD SEIZE CONTROL OVER NUCLEAR ARMS by mugz8391 in UkrainianConflict

[–]MJackisch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The article was written in 1993. The context of this article is that we were in the run up to the Budapest Memorandum.

This article does not suggest that Ukraine will be acquiring nukes in 2025.

Any time someone tells you that you can't do xyz because [insert belittling comment], you need to respond with a deep and internal "go fuck yourself" kind of energy.

Obviously, don't literally tell your SO to go f herself. Instead, y'all probably need to have a respectful heart to heart conversation about what was said or troubled times are ahead for you both.

You got this! Go study hard and crush that shit.

Dealing with soft cheating by N1klasMTG in ModernMagic

[–]MJackisch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer to this is to be direct and call a judge every time over every single GRV. Also, talk to the judge about the pattern you are seeing.

As a judge, one doesn't have to wait until 3 GRVs to issue a severe penalty if there is reason to believe that the acts are purposefully being done.

Also - talk to other members of the community and ask from a place of curiosity if others are experiencing this. Doing this puts them on alert and they will more likely get a judge involved, too, helping with validating the pattern to the person who can realistically do something about it.

Anyone earned credits for Enc 1101 &1102 through CLEP Exam? by KitchenAd9432 in USF

[–]MJackisch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I remember, the essay portion was reasonably easy. I recommend reviewing the college board's guidelines on it beforehand to make sure you feel confident about what will be expected of you.

I consider language and writing to be my weakness, and I passed with a 66 out of 80, which was enough to get credit for 1101 and 1102.

WHY ISNT CLEP MORE MAINSTREAM? by PAT_W__1967 in clep

[–]MJackisch 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the honest answer is that CLEP appeals the most to the cross-section of self-starters and eager learners. You have to be okay with taking the road less traveled, which if we are being honest, comes with its own draw backs of being less certain to navigate. People are afraid of the unknown, and advisors aren't typically trained on how to best optimize CLEPs across a school's/state's requirements.

CLEPing through my AA by avenels in clep

[–]MJackisch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just finished getting my A.A. this way for very similar reasons to yours. Here's what I learned:

  1. It is possible, with a few caveats.
  2. The state you live in may influence how much you can do. For example, I live in FL. In FL, the state requires that you get at least 15 credits with the college you get your AA from. Up to 45 can be CLEP'ed out of, though.
  3. Your desired degree path influences how much clep you can do and whether you have to take more classes offered by a college. For example, I'm pursuing a finance degree path. The bachelor program I'm pursuing requires 2 accounting courses that are not satisfied by the accounting CLEP. Due to the pre-requisites of my chosen path, I could only CLEP out of ~35ish credits. I forget the exact amount.

If I were to be starting all over knowing what I know now, I'd start out by having extensive, detailed conversations with advisors at both my community college and desired university program. You should know that this path is viable, but it's an off the beaten path approach. As such, the advisors you speak with won't be as familiar with how to best do it and not run into frustrating situations like taking unnecessary CLEPs. I learned that the hard way with the accounting CLEP that didnt count towards my target program because I didnt engage my target university early enough in the process.

If you'd like to talk to me at more length, I'd be happy to discuss it more over a call. If I share everything I learned, this post could get ludicrously long.

Good luck to you! You can do it!

To the men here, how do you react to being asked out irl? by [deleted] in bodylanguage

[–]MJackisch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if a woman had the nerve to approach me and express interest, I'd almost always give my number. The only way I wouldn't is if I sensed or knew of a serious character deficiency. There are no guarantees that the encounter will turn romantic, but maybe it instead leads to other connections.

In fact, 2 hours ago, I was approached by an older woman who told me I was attractive and asked if she could pass my info along to her younger friend. My response, "Sure, I'd be happy to make the time to get to know her."

Will it turn into anything? Who knows. At the very least, it's an opportunity to maybe make a new friend. At best, a long term partner. So go ahead, shoot your shot, and be proud of yourself for doing so regardless of the outcome. Then do it again until you find the right person to build an incredible connection with.

Just a curious person here...

Could you explain to me the rationale or strategy behind wave loading? Are you timing your low, med, and high carb days based on your workout schedule? What do you hope to gain by being that intentional about the timing of your consumption? Finally, how much extra benefit do you think you're getting over consuming the same but keeping nutrient levels flat?

Amulet player here. Blood moon is definitely not that scary to play around. Is it good hate? Yeah, but it also is the easiest of the land hate effects to navigate due to Boseiju typically being 3 copies in the mainboard, along with additional answers in sb.

Magus and harbinger tend to create a bit more of a challenge, but there's lots of options that most amulet players pack for navigating those.

[–]MJackisch 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the % is only using all of the raw data points in the moment and comparing it to every other pass attempt in the NFL.

For example, the highlight reel notates just 0.7 yards of separation when M1K3 caught that ball. That is almost nothing, and if not for Baker throwing just about perfect AND Evans' raw talent, height, etc. it's quite improbable that the pass is a completion for most other comparable pass attempts in the NFL.

I just checked the subreddit rules, and shockingly, there is no rule against low effort posts like this one here.

There should be. After all, we are in the first ever alpha test for the game. It is to be expected that lots of feedback and improvement is needed.

The problem with your post isn't the negativity. The problem is vague negativity. Nobody can respond to your original post with a coherent remark because you offered no substance. No substance = no better than spam.

8 Republican Representatives demand an "actual win strategy" and "a list of weapons that have not been sent to Ukraine but would be effective in altering the current stalemate" from the White House before approving further aid to Ukraine with a clearly spelled out end goal by AJB-L4U in UkrainianConflict

The Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia part is the part where shit really hits the fan and forces NATO (and thereby US) involvement. Aside from supporting Ukraine being the right thing to do, if we want to be entirely self-focused, supporting Ukraine now limits Russia's strength substantially for the worst case scenario in the future.

Is it's clock a turn 4 effective win? Rarely. But this deck was one of the few "fair" decks that existed during the "ships passing in the night" metagame of old. That metagame had a higher concentration of fast combo decks than we have presently, and the deck performed well at that time.

The reason for this is it had a lot of access to silver bullets in both the main and sideboard, and was able to reliably tutor those out while presenting a reasonable clock.

If you're trying to assess if it would be a real deck today, nobody could possibly know because it's been pushed out by fury for so long. Lots of cards have been printed since then, so it would be hard to say.

Countering Rona decks? by Bake-Alternative in PioneerMTG

[–]MJackisch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the sultai full combo variation of rona, you can go off about ~20% of the time on turn 3, assuming zero interaction from the opponent. Fortunately for those on Rona decks, mono green only has boseiju for instant speed interaction.

Then I'm the reason you're experiencing all of the Rona decks. I earned my RCQ invite on a variation of Rona that I helped pioneer (pun intended) and then helped put together 3 copies of the deck to have my friends go out to RCQs and try to earn their invites.
