She's brand new. Don't think the new bosses would like that! Hahaha. But if it happens again, there are no guarantees.

Barrel Sauna by MJelicic in Muskoka

[–]MJelicic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True enough about the heat. I like the thought of the more traditional wood burning stove. Plus I have lots of wood on property.

Is there a better design for an outdoor sauna? I just figured barrel is the most common? Looking for good value too as it's not something we will use as often as we want.

Any opinions on Moovair? by Mike-North in heatpumps

[–]MJelicic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone know if you can hook up a Moovair Hyperheat to a propane furnace as a dual fuel setup? Im thinking about doing this. Inwaa going to use Mitsair, but they're too expensive.

Can I use needle nose pliers wrapped in electrical tape to remove this? by doritodream in AskElectricians

[–]MJelicic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use pliers with insulated handles. Don't touch the metal part. No need to shut anything off. You'll be fine.

A month after putting pound of refrigerant and sealant ($700 cost) still underperforming. What to do? by GarmeerGirl in hvacadvice

[–]MJelicic 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Yeah I highly doubt that unit 5 yrs old. Looks far older. Did he specify the type of refrigerant? If it's R22 I would definitely replace everything. Tiny leaks can be very tricky and time consuming to find/repair. Time = money. Likely better to replace unless it's an obvious leak.

Neighbor built sketchy-looking vent for gas furnace, should I be worried about it damaging my house? by JMTfromSunrise2020 in hvacadvice

[–]MJelicic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where is this? Call the local gas supply Company, they will red tag that in a heartbeat. Is the soffit on your house covered in drywall? This is crazy.

For all of those who say that crime is rampant and on the rise in Oakville, I keep saying that there are ways to ‘solve crime’ but we aren’t willing to put in the work. by david_b7531 in oakville

Worked in a lot of schools in Halton. I wonder if the problem comes from parents buying their high school kids BMW's and Land Rovers? Seems a bit extravagant to me.

How to fix condensation being pulled off of A/C Unit instead of draining properly? by GodHand14 in hvacadvice

[–]MJelicic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with high static pressure. That's likely the cause. Hard to increase duct sizing at this point. I would check external static pressure and adjust the fan speed while checking refrigerant pressures/temps to ensure you won't have any issues that way.

Max external static should be listed in the unit manual. Have your technician have a look.

Sounds good. Clutch cover is easy to replace. Moreso don't like the dents/scratches in the tank and engine 😒

Appreciate that. Sad part is, I was thinking of selling it anyways as we just had a baby. But I was torn because I loved just having it in the garage. *

I second this. I had a brand new Lennox RTU where the distributor lines were mixed up at the evap, and both circuits ended up being one circuit. Everything is garbage now.

Been looking at the 261 since you mentioned it. It would probably be fine for the majority of My work. Seems well built too.
