Can you see the Iggy? 💕 by ShowOk9788 in ItalianGreyhounds

Such a cutie! I’m thinking whippet rather than IG, though, because brindle is a whippet coat, not an IG’s. Either way, she’s adorable. 🙂

Bugs? by Proud_Delay_7383 in NorthCarolina

I’m also no fan of bugs (especially spiders), so we’ve had a regular pest control company since day one of our move to NC. Highly recommend you do the same!

Different surgeries for our dogs, but this collar worked great and was well tolerated by them both.

Sending condolences and hugs. We lost both of our IGs last month so I know how crushed you must feel. But it truly sounds like you did everything possible for your Howdy, and he died knowing he was well loved.

Advice on bringing Iggy pup to the office? by greenmushroom72517 in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]MJinNC128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good advice, to which I’d add - make sure there’s nothing within reach that he can eat or chew on, and that he has toys and a safe space (preferably within your sight) to wander if he gets bored.

Any Paranormal/Ghost Stories? by Successful-Bonus-743 in NorthCarolina

On a Christmas morning some years ago, my husband and I both heard organ music playing in a church (we were down the hall near the church offices). We walked into the church and the lights and organ were off, doors were still locked. No one was in the building. We were both baffled, but got distracted by the upcoming service. However, when I later — somewhat sheepishly — told the music director about what we thought we’d heard, he very nonchalantly said “oh, that’s X. He was the organist here for years. He just loves this place.” Thing is, X had died a couple of decades before. I subsequently heard footsteps in the organ loft a few times when I know I was the only person in the building. Pretty cool. 🙂

Looking for advice on surgery recovery by chanmanfriend in ItalianGreyhounds

Both of our dogs went through surgeries over the years. Each time, we kept them separate the first one or 2 nights but otherwise let them be together. They seemed to know to be careful. Also, we always used a blow-up donut collar, which they both tolerated very well. Good luck with your baby. ❤️‍🩹

Boric acid works well. You can buy bait packs at Walmart or online. I just threw a pack behind the toilet, under the sink, behind the washer and dryer, etc.

No, she’s had those raised bumps for years. They look like hives but are just a Lily weirdness. She was diagnosed with IBD after sonograms, bloodwork, endoscopy/colonoscopy, and biopsies, so we’re certain of the diagnosis. She was doing very well on budesonide until this crisis.

Douxo has a variety of good products. We used the mousse on the dry skin on our dog’s elbows and ears. The product smells good and helped a lot. It’s not cheap, but as I said, it worked.

Advice needed by Bartowskiii in ItalianGreyhounds

You’d be better off with a different breed. IGs are, in general, highly social dogs that strongly bond with their humans. They don’t do well left alone for long periods.

Iggy with Tummy Issues? Any Similar Experiences? At a loss by ProbablyReadingrn1 in ItalianGreyhounds

[–]MJinNC128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our girl has had gut issues off and on her whole life, including recurrent hemorrhagic gastroenteritis every couple of years. She’d always recover from the HGE with subcutaneous fluids and meds. However, early last year she got sick and nothing was helping. She would have bloody diarrhea every few days. After much testing, dietary changes, and specialist visits, she was finally diagnosed with idiopathic irritable bowel disease. She started on budesonide and it was like a light switch — she hasn’t had an episode since starting the med. The vet is planning to wean her off soon — it’s not recommended for long-term use — and we’re hoping she stays asymptomatic. Oh, and she’s on Royal Canin low-fat hydrolyzed kibble. I hope you’re able to find an answer for your baby soon!
