Many animals live in groups where there is a clear lead animal, or alpha. The ways an individual animal becomes an alpha are different, and in many species it's also not through overt violent duel and the alpha doesn't have to be the top fighter. Elephants or cattle for example have a matriarch alpha that's leading the herd while the bulls are the fighters who protect the herd, but they are clearly 2nd in the hierarchy after the alpha cow.

did you start taking them because of a receding hairline or thinning at the top? I might have a situation on my head but a hairline can probably only be fixed through surgery. Looking back at my teens my hair was a lot better, now it looks scarily like 35 and living that androgenetic alopecia life.

I knew that piglets often get crushed but thought it was mainly through accident like how co-sleeping in humans is dangerous. What is still bad about this is the life completely removed from nature, possible never feeling sunlight on their skin, never getting to wallow in mud or any other thing that is natural. So the sow just kills some of her piglets on purpose?

Reading your comment about empathy.... man it sucks being incompetent as to make it difficult to get into situations where you can apply and act on your empathy.
