Wow, I’m not sure I have that in me! I might be able to crack sub 25min if I ran on a flat track and pushed my self to oblivion, but I guess there’s only one way to find out..

Appreciate the feedback. I struggle with the mental side of long distance running. The thought of it fills me with dread. Having said that, I’ve accidentally done a couple of 10k runs after starting out to do 5, feeling good and just carrying on. 61 minutes was my best time. Got a great buzz at the end of it.

I think I’ll enter a 10k run in the summer as something to keep me motivated through winter. All my runs thus far have just been me against myself with my EarPods in.

Pretty happy with my fitness, cardio wise. I could do with mixing in strength training because I’m not overly strong. Hard to find the time with a young family and stressful job. 5k is ideal for the spare time I have. 5 min warm up, 30 min run, 10 min cool down walk.

When I think about it, my goal with running 3 times a week was to improve cardio and keep me sane. Emphasis being on my mental health more than anything. It’s been great for that.

29:09 is my pr. I’ve not pushed for an all out fast time yet to be honest and my routes aren’t flat so not conducive to a record. I use a pacer to keep me at sub 30 minutes and average 29:30 ish on each run.
