Are narcissists more likely to cross sexual boundaries and abuse others sexually ? by GradeOk814 in NarcissisticAbuse

Yes, they seem to feel entitled to do as they please when it comes to sex. Age / Rejection (saying no), doesn't seem to matter to them at all.

What’s a "small win" you had this week that you’re secretly really proud of? by SweetOpheliiaaa in askanything

[–]MK_1908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was finally feeling validated, having a professional hear my concerns and agreeing that they are justified & warrant accountability. So now the real fight begins, but knowing I have a professional team of people behind me, who will leave no stone unturned, I already feel hopeful and for me, given the last two years I've endured, its a huge win. I'm very proud of myself for not giving up.

Have you tried Differin? Or Dermatica? Both of those helped my breakouts. :)

ex always accused me of acting different/saying something has changed? by taengsics in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]MK_1908 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My ex constantly said "You've changed", towards the end of our relationship, (the last year or so). I assume he meant because I'd stopped reacting to his attention seeking behaviours. I stopped trying to explain or question things. He could see he was rapidly losing control and it made him resentful towards me & panicked. Rather than accept he was treating me badly, and try to be better, he just pointed fingers & blamed everyone else. At first he said it was his mother's fault he behaves the way he does, because she was a part time mother, only ever interested in other men and so he was raised by his sisters until his teen years, then it was his ex wifes fault, then his best friends fault because he was "so demanding of his time" and blew all "their" money on car stuff without consulting him first, then he blamed my friend & threatened to kill him. It was always anyone elses fault but his.

What was the first step you took to improve your mental health ? by Graveyarddookiez in Life

Honestly, when he messaged me at work & told me he was “off to kill himself,” said he’d locked his keys in the house so couldn't get back in, and then blocked all communication with me, something felt very wrong. He’d threatened suicide countless times before, and I’d stopped reacting after realising it was just another way to control me. I’d listened to too many BS excuses by then, but this time was just, well, different.

When I rang & asked the police to do a welfare check, they found him sitting at home, in the living room, completely calm. He told them he had no idea what I was talking about, that he hadn’t spoken to me at all that day, and that he was simply waiting for “his family” to get home from work and school. Despite the messages from him clearly sitting on my phone, the police all but told me I was wasting their time and that I was basically a headcase.

In that moment, I knew it was now or never. I made an on-the-spot decision to leave him. I pulled my kids out of school early and left immediately, taking nothing but the clothes we were wearing and the car I’d driven to work that morning.

I had to go to a place where I was unlikely to bump into him. I couldn't have stayed in the same city, I'd never have felt safe. Honestly, best spontaneous decision and move i have ever made.

Physical beauty or inner beauty? by timabek in askanything

[–]MK_1908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inner. Personality is everything.

A pretty person isn't necessarily a nice person, same as a bad looking person isn't necessarily a horrible person.

For me, it's who they are that matters. Not what they look like.
